Edited from Roy Brooks excellent 1970 live album.
The original is the version to have, obviously, but it is over 12 mins long.
Personally I could listen to this track all day but have edited it down to a more compact length, 
losing some solos but making it more accessible.
Hope you enjoy.

Written and recorded between 2009 and October 2011 this is a collection of songs that came together on the way to finishing The Hollow. Some simply fell by the wayside due to collaborations being thwarted, or simply overlooked for different ideas.

Some formed the basis for better realised ideas but this is where certain methods or techniques were first tried and explored. Like the fairly Vangelis inspired 1000 Lost Letters which was part of a couple of improvisations, the second of which became the harp piece The Hollow.

All I Do was an experiment with recording the awful drum kit that was used for the entire of The Hollow. Particularly in this case to experiment with sounds for Through A Window.

A track like Repeat was simply the outlet of frustration and energy during the non-writing, mix and production period - a throwaway, an hour spent with all the instruments out, multi-tracking everything in one session as an improvisation.

They might not have the polish or have been edited quite as severely as the tracks that appeared on the album but they are ones that still were worth sharing and in some ways are maybe a little more honest for being a bit less finished.

Info: After one and a half decade and more than 400 releases, Compost Records bundles some of their finest tunes as Various Artists digital download compilation albums. The variety and full spectrum of Compost’s repertoire has never or rarely been presented in form of a musical genre compilation. These releases will be compiled or DJ-mixed by Compost’s artists and are available as digital downloads, except in some rare cases very very limited as 500 CDs.

Ever since the beginning of electronic music the voice was considered an instrument that shouldn’t be forgotten. So when everybody considered the beats and the bass as the King, there was still love for vocals. Sometimes to create an atmosphere of tribalism with its own mantras, sometimes as a work of poetry. But always present.

From the depths of the Compost vaults vocal tracks were selected and mixed by Rupert & Mennert. Compost and Rupert & Mennert are more than proud to present two shining examples of all the great songs that were sung and produced in the last two decades.

Could one say that this particular ‘Compost Selection’ defines a genre? Well... not entirely. Do all the great vocalists that sang on an immense amount of Compost releases deserve their own spotlight? Well... hell yes!

The first take has the appropriate sub-title: Brothers.

On this very compilation, fourteen tracks are selected and mixed together. With vocal contributions by Robert Owens, Victor Davies, Colonel Red, Marc Frank, Joseph Malik, Ovasoul 7, Jamie Lloyd, Ernesto and many more. The tracks will go back and forth through all kinds of genres. From the deep folk electronic of Zwicker , the latin-jazz by Intuit and the spoken word by General Electrics to the beats by Wagon Cookin’, Daniel Magg, Phreek Plus One and TJ Kong & Nuno dos Santos. Giving you post broken beats by Beanfield and Kyoto Jazz Massive. Ending with some classic crooning from Les Gammas and funky soul by Muallem and Alex Attias.

So let the brothers of Compost be your guide through their musical landscape!
