Chennai Floods: November - December 2015 have been devastating.
Chennai was home to me in my early years and it is quite heartbreaking to see the people going through such difficult times!
This song, from the 80s was a then favorite of mine and this mashup sounded just right!
I've always been in awe of Tamil films and it's music!

Structured over a foundation of borrowed and produced dubstep material, I've tried to recreate a tune that melted most television tubes in India about a decade and a half ago.

Play it loud, dive into the Pool, and do the breast stroke. ;-)

This song from the classic movie 'Kismat' (1968), originally scored by O.P. Nayyar and sung by the legendary Asha Bhonsle, found a new lease of life after 'Karunesh' reproduced it and rechristened it 'Punjab'.

DJs picked up Karunesh's Punjab and dished out bootleg mixes etc. 
I haven't yet come across a rework of the original song itself, so biaatch! stepped in! :-)

The Story So far…

The last 29 years have seen me rise as a DJ and establish myself as a producer & a remix artist. In the modern times, the brand ABSOLUTE! is becoming more & more synonymous with the Bolly’hood experiments that I do, which is a good thing but has a flip side to it too! 

Anoop Absolute! wasn’t a Bolly’hood DJ to begin with. In my early days, I introduced the sound of Goa Trance to the party people of Bangalore. With my much discussed stint as a resident DJ at Bangalore’s hippest lounge beween 1999-2002: The 180 Proof, one could’ve never imagined that Goa Trance would become the mainstream sound of an up-market Lounge Bar! Though it was a roaring success, it left me labeled a Trance DJ!

Adaptability is much required to sustain as an artist in the ever changing world of music trends! The sound in the clubs, both at a domestic and the international level, was and is constantly evolving. Being a musician, understanding and adapting to different genres of dance music came rather easily to me.

Though I continued to dish out the Psy-Hardcore even after my residency at 180 Proof, comparatively more mellowed down BPMs of tribal house, tribal tech and progressive house were being demanded by the clubbers! I was now a DJ that played all variants of House Music / EDM!

2007 saw a few nightclubs of Bangalore introduce Bollywood Nights on Wednesdays. By early 2009, every club excepting a few, were doing it! Though I had already remixed AR Rahman’s ‘Rang De Basanti’ in 2006, I had not taken up to spinning Bollywood Music at the nightclubs yet. My sound was still EDM.

Bollywood DJs became the need of the hour and I wasn’t one! The gig enquiries started to fade away and a decision was to be made… 

Bollywood it had to be!

Mid 2009 saw Anoop Absolute! Mixing and Mashing his way up as a Bollywood Producer & DJ! 

Though I played Bollywood, I developed a unique style by infusing the electronic element into it. My Bollywood music was structured over house and progressive trance and people loved it!

While I was playing bollywood gigs and producing my bolly’hood experiments, I was also nurturing my love for alternative electronic music in the form of Dubstep, Breaks and Drum’n’Bass. But every time “Anoop Absolute!” announced a Dubstep gig, the bollywood fans showed up! This wasn’t good! 

People couldn’t relate to “Anoop Absolute!” playing Dubstep sets!
This had become a clear case of Brand positioning. I was registered in people’s minds as a Bollywood DJ. 

To pursue my passion of performing Dubstep, an alibi was required and here he is…
