Letting Go (live) *

I’m an experienced, trained soprano with a 3 octave range. 

I want to start a progressive metal project with elements of symphonic/classical/opera, atmospheric, melodic/blackened death, gothic and doom metal, where I/we write original material.

Also, I'm open for pitches from other bands and studio to do guest vocals/studio work in a range of genres.

I'm in the process of writing, and have several songs and song fragments to show as demos.

I’d also love to do metal covers of classical and opera pieces as a complement to original songs.

At the moment I prefer it to be more of a studio project, but am open to further possibilities going forward!

I live in the Stockholm area.
 
At the moment I’m looking for guitar/bass, keyboard/synth, drums/beats and someone who can growl, possibly male backing cleans. Classical instruments would also be amazing! I have an image of roughly where I want to go with the sound, and have the parts pretty decided in my demos, but of course they will develop, so also one or a few more like-minded/complementary songwriters would be of interest.

More about me and my background:
 
I am American and Swedish, fluent in English and Swedish. Experienced singer, trained in rock and classical with 3 octave coloratura soprano range, with almost 100% focus on cleans. Have a lot of live and recording experience, as well as a lot of experience writing lyrics in English, vocals and harmony parts.

In choir: have sung at a high level, many different genres from opera, classical from many different times, folk and world music, gospel, jazz, contemporary choral pieces, etc.

In bands: have sung metal, rock, acoustic rock, electronic and covers.

I'm a trained singer with a 3 octave range. I've sung in choirs for over 20 years and in bands for about 12 years. I have extensive recording studio and stage experience. I've sung everything and more from opera, classical, jazz, folk/world, triphop, rock, and metal.

I had the great pleasure of working with David Gold of Woods of Ypres on our debut album which unfortunately has never been released (perhaps one day, I very much hope!). My last choral situation was in the first soprano section with Bucks County Choral Society (buckschoral.org). We performed pieces like choruses to famous operas, Bach's St. Matthew's Passion, and Handel's Messiah.

I have studied with several voice teachers, the best and most recent of which is John Nicholas Peters (vocaltechnician.com). If you're interested in becoming a better singer, I can't recommend him enough.

My loves and influences are bands such as The Gathering, Nightwish, Opeth, Epica, Alice in Chains, Drain STH, Lacuna Coil, Draconian, and a lot of other European metal bands. Stylistically I'd say I'm a lot like Anneke van Giersbergen, with some Simone Simons thrown in, and intricate vocal harmonies and elaborate fills are a specialty as well as atmospheric prettiness.

I've compiled 14 tracks of music that I've been a part of recording between now and 2002 with different people, much of which has never been online or been available publicly. Aside from that, I'm currently working on writing music for a solo concept album.
