Label owner Miley Serious’ fascination with US culture turns once again to Philadelphia on this occasion, following on from the last release of California’s lor2mg’s EP, ‘WTVR’. 

Formally known as Godha, da 445.ceo’s sound is indebted to world cultures and sounds, tying in bits from the worlds of rap, dance and pop and rerouting them all back to his home in Mid Western America, specifically Philly at that. His latest offering; ‘Posted in the Back of the Club Pt. 2’, not only solidifies his new alias’ sonic placement, but also cements 99CTS’ status among forward thinking and risk taking labels. 

A 9 track offering, the mixtape goes everywhere between Memphis and Myspace, giving us some of the catchiest melodies and hi-pitched vocals so steeped in emotions, if Burial had a Tik Tok account they’d be on there. Anytime we get too deep in our feels, da 445.ceo pulls us back into the club; be it the sounds of a favela or a DIY rave; deconstructing those somewhat familiar drums, horns or gunshots and warping them all back together into 2023 ringtone anthems. 

As you can probably tell, trying to describe the work of da 445.ceo with words borders on a complete waste of time. da 445.ceo is for the diehards. 99CTS is for the diehards.
