We met @luimafuta thanks to our friends from @downvienna at a wild party at Fluc in Vienna in 2019 . We spend some nice days together and feel in love with his live set. When Jonas aka @KlangDruide then send us " A Spoon full of honey" as release proposal earlier this year, we directly had to think of Lui and knew this would be a great match. Lui took his friend Puste along with his trumpet and out came this beauty of a track. Due to Corona we could not enjoy their live performance at Klunkerkranich last Saturday the 14.03, but we hope the song puts a smile on your face where ever you are right now. 

As always with Hug Records 50% of the profit raised with this track are donated to the Water Project from @Love-Foundation. The other 50% are split equally between Artist and Label.

One year after the release of the EP "Seres Hibridos", in partnership with Furmigadub, Venga Venga launches SERES HÍBRIDOS REMIXED which gathers free reinterpretations of the EP songs, by the invitation of the label Ohxalá Records (Porto, Portugal), and created by other producers, partners and friends of the duo.

The Portuguese duo Ohxalá is responsible for the version of “Caboclo Presidente”, while the Brazilian Kurup gives some hypnotic tones to “Longarinas”. Badsista brings her powerful beats to “Quem”, and the song “Mama” was revisited and mixed in two versions: one by the hands of the Brazilian multi-artist based in Portugal, Cigarra, and another one by the French DJ and producer Rafael Aragon. The duo itself (Ricardo Don e Denny Azevedo) remixes one of its themes, deepening and speeding up the protestive beat in “Cura”.

As the cherry on top, it's got the Brazilian VJ & Visual Artist, Veruska Girio aka Astronauta Mecanico, who currently signs the visuals for the duo's concerts, the development of a serie of conceptual videos, which will be released daily, between 15th to 20th of November, presenting each of these remixes, creating a motion picture of the EP in the end.

VENGA-VENGA is the multidisciplinary project of the artist couple Ricardo Don (vocalist, music producer, lyricist, DJ, performer and visual artist) and Denny Azevedo (vocalist, composer, DJ, performer and beauty artist). They started in 2013, and today it is an itinerant cultural movement that brings together music, performance, poetry, parties and photography, video art and urban interventions, dialoguing with sexual diversity, hedonism and migration in the form of aesthetic appeal.

Currently based in Lisbon, with 2 EPs already released and 3 official remixes produced, several soundtracks and dj-sets, they musically work on electronic music fusion, where they show their Brazilian roots influences where they go, a contemporary mix, an identity patchwork and artivism.

The Rigveda is structured based on clear principles. The Veda begins with a small book addressed to Agni, Indra, Soma and other gods, all arranged according to decreasing total number of hymns in each deity collection; for each deity series, the hymns progress from longer to shorter ones, but the number of hymns per book increases. Continuing to push his sound into new realms through experimentation with different influences, Joaquin Cornejo returns to Earthly Measures with his first vinyl release. The ‘Las Frutas’ EP contains 6 genre-bending, tempo-shifting tracks that form to create a mesmerising blend of footwork, dub, Latin & African percussion.

‘Las Frutas’ explores a collaboration with both the Spanish singer Alex Serra and British DJ and trumpet player DJ Swordfish. It’s constructed by a warped and pitched down drum break that has been slowly surrounded by subby kicks, toms and dub chords that echo through tape delays, giving it a wonderfully spaced out atmosphere that provides the perfect backdrop for the soothing vocals and brass instruments.

‘Spatial Request’ sees a shift in tempo as Joaquin once again blends elements of Dub but this time with the driving Dominican rhythm Merengue. The result is a track that is very much fuel for the mind and body as the vibey atmosphere and percussive focus helps to keep the track moving with bouncy momentum.

Effortlessly combining music from his home country with the Dub theme that has been apparent throughout, ‘Dub en 3’ is a percussion jam from Ecuadorian percussion duo Consulado del Ritmo, where African triplet rhythms crossover with strong dub techno stabs and a Dub MC sample echoes in and out creating a effective blend of tribal and dubby elements.

‘Eso’ sees the return of the percussive wizardry of Consulado del Ritmo but this time in collaboration with the Venezuelan singer Gotopo. A relentless amalgamation of 160bpm djembe grooves, solid 808 kick drums, deep and sultry vocals and synth stabs feed-backing on tape create a driving blend of African percussion and footwork with a subtle touch of dub techno.

Perhaps the darkest track on the record, ‘Shadow’ is a collaboration with the English singer-songwriter Wabi Sabi aka Anna Bailey. Exploring a deep fusion of footwork, dubstep and dub techno alongside strong tape delay and Wabi Sabi’s hauntingly beautiful vocals, it glides experimentally through the shadows of the previous track.

‘Las Frutas’ Vapor Mix’ is a distant dreamy take on the original where the vocals ebb and flow throughout creating an otherworldly ambience. This piece is made up of elements from the other tracks, pitched down or up on tape and layered in a tempo-independent way, producing the perfect ambient ending to the journey.
