Rising star SOSA collaborates with established producer and DJ duo Prok | Fitch. Together, they weave their distinct sound of groove-based tech house, releasing a club-driven creation suitable for transient and peak-time moments on the dancefloor. 

They explain the functional aspect of the EP. “We’ve wanted to do something together for a while through a mutual love for one another’s music. The tracks came together effortlessly; we merged our production styles, bounced the projects back and forth and ended up doing three tracks covering the full scope of our DJ sets and us as producers,” they say. “It was important to have a lead track for the EP, something that a good cross-section of DJs could get behind and then some timeless DJ tools for groovier floors, late night/early morning moments and the big rooms! We’re buzzing with how they turned out and how they’ve been working on the dancefloor.” The title tune opens with a minimal vibe before a sultry vocal slips into the soundscape, evoking a sunrise-at-the-rave mood. Stripped-back percussion allows the lyrics to breathe, while a robust kickdrum conveys a clubby feel. Like the title suggests, Sweat is a pacier tune that ripples with a low-slung bassline and sizzling vocals with a touch of reverb—the perfect late-night groover. Final tune Footsteps In The Dark unfurls with a stabby synthline and snappy percussion, offering a peak-time production primed for a club soundsystem. 

Since breaking through with groundbreaking releases on Sola, Hottrax and Cuttin Headz, Liverpool-born SOSA has gained support from leading names in house music such as Jamie Jones, Michael Bibi, The Martinez Brothers, Chris Lake and East End Dubs to name a few. I first gave to “Seeing Through Shadows” @Ricardo Villalobos. He was the only guy who was able to play crazy stuff. Please keep in mind, that this sound was not big at that time, and Ricardo was really far out. 

We were at the Dance Valley Festival, playing the Circoloco stage. Ricardo came to me during his set and said: “I’m going to play your track! Watch @Richie Hawtin’s face!“ He played the tune, and after first chords I saw Rich go to Ricardo. I didn’t really know him at that time. I just saw Ricardo laughing and pointing at me.

When I first explored the label called Controlla, I was both shocked and surprised, and couldn't imagine such a thing existed in the audio-visual universe. Some years passed, and while it turned out we're running a Mexican-music-outlet Ali X suddenly approached Complaint with crazy track ideas. Now we're talking.

Public Possession's Aussie non-professional smoke-machine @djedenburns delivered an ass-shaking, minimalistic version of the title track, and the game is just on. Maybe sounds annoying for the first listen, but when you realize the geniusity of this dude, you'll spin his remix on repeat.

Ali X - U 4 A DAY (Eden Burns Remix)

Solid Grooves co-founder PAWSA returns to the label with a pair of moody cuts exemplary of his distinct production style. Complete with rolling kicks and a rumbling low-end, 'Werk' features trippy vocal samples and crunchy snares before the esoteric 'Speedbump' with its sci-fi synths and echoing effects.
