Cocoon Recordings keeps on celebrating the arrival of the new year and with our second release in 2014 we present RAR's first 12" for Cocoon Recordings. "RAR" is the current project joint of RAMPA and RE.YOU who made large waves last year with releases like"Everything" by RAMPA on "Keinemusik“ - one of 2013s top tunes!
 
2013 saw also RARs first work for Cocoon Recordings with their "Cocoon Compilation L" contribution "Yeah Yeah Yeah" (feat.: Meggy) which turned into a heavy clubhit, too. 
 
Since then the two joined the Cocoon ArtistBooking department and their first tour is about to start in a couple of days. Their new Cocoon Recordings release is a cool teaser for what to expect life-on-stage from RAR and features three berlin-morning-flavoured minimal house tunes. Imagine yourself sunday morning at 7am in the Panoramabar and Ricardo Villalobos drops "Do We" by RAR. If you ever eyewitnessed one of these nights and wish to get back there here's your soundtrack to do so.

Currently big on Beatport in the charts with 'Claptone's - Cream', here is the next strong release on Exploited in 2012. Exploited presents the Hamburg duo ADANA TWINS - consisting of Take it Easy, the energizer and Freezo, the straight and fluffy guy - who were brought together by the power of good turkish food and the love for grooving house music. Last year they were responsible for one of the biggest tunes on Exploited in 2011: "JUICY FRUIT" - a slo-mo housed-up boogie-soul joint that was appreciated by a variety of DJs like Axel Boman, Round Table Knights, Solomun, A-Trak and many more. Now, Adana Twins are back with another hit: EVERYDAY is an updated version of a New Jack Swing Classic which has been getting a lot of support by SOLOMUN recently. Not to forget, the bonus track STRANGE: a secret weapon for the early morning hours.

As the iconic Body Language mix series hits a 20th essential edition, Get Physical enlist the ever-talented Emanuel Satie as the man to curate and mix it.

Berlin based DJ and producer Satie, has been a vital artist over recent years, with an impressive output of releases on marquee labels such as Moon Harbour, Knee Deep In Sound, DFTD and of course Get Physical. He is currently riding high following a recent BBC Radio 1 Essential New Tune with his stunning track ‘Don’t Forget To Go Home featuring Billy Cobham'. He has included this in his Body Language mix, alongside another self-penned track ‘Paris featuring Mama’, as well as a fine remix of Jay Haze’s feat. Big Bully & Sven VT’s 'Soul In A Bottle' which is sure to be finding favour in discerning record boxes, and will be released as a stand-alone release later this summer.

The mix kicks off in absorbing fashion with thoughtful deep house that has tender vocals and broken beats from Self Egg. Pezzner keeps things cosy with his ‘Heartline’ before the perfectly roughshod and whimsical classic ‘Silent State’ from STL lulls you into a day dream. Things then begin to get more upright with the quirky melodics of Kiani & His Legion’s ‘Eindelozer’ and The/Das’s enchanting 'Drug Dilling’.

This perfectly coherent mix remains expertly paced, smoothly moving through the gears with tracks from Fred P, Doza, dubspeeka and Tuff City Kids that all add something new and dynamic. Satie’s own ‘Paris' is a haunting bit of stripped back house and his remix of “Soul In A Bottle’ sinks you into mellifluous house grooves rich in gorgeous piano keys. Satie expertly concludes the mix with his other original ‘Don’t Forget To Go Home’ a glowing house cut with real musical warmth after more twisted, tech tinged tracks from Detroit great Kevin Sanderson & KiNK, and German master Roman Flügel.

This latest Body Language mix is another fresh instalment that champions the Get Physical sound as well as being a tasteful snapshot of the best deep and tech house has to offer.

Body Language Vol. 20 by Emanuel Satie (Minimix)

The Copenhagen based producer and DJ, is back with an exceptional remix package on hfn music. Having dropped the stunning Fool album earlier this year, we are now treated to several stellar remixes of one of the standout tracks, the third official single ‘Bohemian Soul’. Kasper had a memorable experience in the Laid Back studio, enlisting both vocal, guitar, 808 and some crazy SH-101 psychedelic acid synth bass jams, of the pioneering 80’s outfit responsible for crossover classics ‘Bakerman’ and ‘White Horse’ – Bjørke brings things bang up to date with a sparkling, ferociously epic dancefloor burner.

Bjørke´s standing on the international electronic music scene is once again evidenced by the quality of the remixes he can call on. The vinyl release features New York’s disco turned rave royalty Still Going (Dr. Dunks from Rub N Tug and Liv Spencer from House of House), delivering a signature 10-minute trip into psychedelic discoid goodness that holds the tension and key elements from the original version – underpinned by a relentless krautrock-meets-Donna Summer groove. On several occasions the track threatens to spin out of control, but somehow maintains its delirious tension for the duration.

On the flip, Hamburg’s Adana Twins, the duo that has gained tremendous success recently on Exploited Records, supply their ‘On A Cloudy Day’ remix, making perfect use of the iconic vocals to produce a thoughtful and deeply grooving house cut. The track’s neurotic synth makes an appearance half way through before the sunshine peaks through the clouds with a classic white-island breakdown.

Tambien‘s remix also get a vinyl release, and adventurous DJs will appreciate this slice of late night knowledge – the additional percussion bounces around the rolling bassline, balearic guitar and unsettling synth stabs. Tambien is the new exciting project of Marvin & Valentino who team up with Jazz guitarist and producer Beni Brachtel aka Bartellow.

As an exclusive remix goodie for Itunes, the Swedish krautdiscopsycherock band This Is Head, delivers a cool and live-twisted version, sure to please the indielovers out there.

A music video directed and shot by Karim Huu Do (who also was director on videos such as Kasper´s 1st hit single “Young Again” from the last album and the latest Bombay Bicycle Club “Lights Out, Words Gone”) will be out around the official releasedate accompanied by a 5 minute “shot edit” of the original 10 minute trip. The video is shot on location in Thailand. We can say no more at this point but promise a unique and beautiful video.
