We love exciting new talent here at DT which is why it is our pleasure to present to you an exclusive mix from one of the fastest rising names in electronic music in Stil Von Talent signing and Oliver Koletzki collaborator Niko Schwind. 
For his latest, he locks horns with his self-professed ‘tutor’, Oliver Koletzki, for an EP that further enhances the credentials of all involved parties. The cheekily named ‘She Wants Acid’ features three original cuts - with each one maintaining their own sense of wonderment and has been a release we've been unable to get off of our playlist or out of heads since it arrived last month. 

Taking us on a trip through the dark tunnels of the techno underground before building through peak time destroyers this is a mix sure to ignite any ailing dancefloor.

It’s Tuesday and despite our inevitably ill fated attempts at “having a quiet Easter weekend” we’re in a spectacularly good mood here at Data Transmission HQ. No, it’s not the detoxing effects of that kale smoothie that we’ve consumed this morning ( DT has concluded that kale is like the bacon of the vegetable world, only, rather than being delicious and kind of horrible for you, it's extremely healthy and almost impossible for us to enjoy) it’s the fresh mix from Berlin based Swede Pär Grindvik.

A central figure in the Swedish electronic scene since the 90s as record store owner, label manager and producer we’re big fans of Pär here at Data Transmission so when the Stockholm LTD founder agreed to helm the latest edition of the DT podcast it’s fair to say we were more than a little excited. What would he play? Whilst probably best known for his peak time dancefloor destroying output the Stockholm veteran is just at home playing on a more abstract tip so just what avenue he’d lead us down was anybody’s guess. Whilst we won’t spoil the surprise (it’s up to you whether or not you want to have a gander at the tracklist) we will tell you it has certainly lived up to our lofty expectations.

Featuring a host of unreleased tracks the mix  heralds the start of a busy summer for Pär with a series of remixes set to precede the release of a much anticipated album project he began earlier in the year. Peak!

It’s not often we have a Mix of the Day on a Saturday (we blame Friday night), but when we do it’s always just that extra bit special. So let us begin by posing a question: What happens when one teenage girl becomes disenchanted with the music in her local club? She learns to do it better, of course!

And so follows a 13 years of ever-improving techno from Brazilian DJ/producer, ANNA. With a distinctive blend of tech house and techno, ANNA has earned spots across the globe, including Berlin, Spain, UK and most recently Lollapalooza in her homeland. Meanwhile, her productions for Tronic, Kraftek and Turbo have picked up support from the global techno elite.

Last week saw French imprint Thrill of It release of the Black Bird EP, a four-track blend of sultry techno and sonic oddities from Atapy. In celebration, the Bucharest-based producer offered us up an exclusive mix, and we just couldn't say no!

Since first popping up back in 2010, Atapy has landed tracks on the likes of Get Physical, ALiVE and Bedrock, along with his own label, Cimelde Records. His quirky take on house and techno has earned him a reputation as unique producer, leading to notable collaborations with Noir and Cari Golden, a remix of The xx, and even a reworking of the Knight Rider theme tune.

Recovering from a big Bank Holiday weekend? We thought as much as we’re in the same boat. So let us help you clear that hangover and kickstart your week with some awesome tunes courtesy of German techno don Monoloc who provides this weeks exclusive mix for our podcast series.

Now normally Monoloc is the type of DJ who needs very little introduction but as we’re all feeling a little fuzzy today let us refresh your memory.  DJ, producer, label boss and internationally renowned live act, Monoloc is nothing if not multi-talented. Based in Berlin, music has always been a priority in Monoloc’s life as anyone who has been fortunate enough to witnesses him rocking the stage or DJ booth can attest. Thus it is with great excitement that we welcome the illustrious producer to our podcast series as he shifts through the gears to deliver a fresh set of cuts for us to wrap our ears around.

Mixed in celebration of the release of a number of fresh releases including the Gipson EP for Soma, Flaneur on Innervisions and a remix for Richie Hawtin's mighty Minus imprint, his hour long set of selections have had us thawing out those boogying muscles as we dance around the office and now you can join in the fun.

DTP434 - Monoloc - Datatransmission

Chances are that if you’ve already encountered Pete Dafeet’s work, then you already speak highly of his vast repertoire of deep house, a genre he seems to have an affiliation with like few others. To give the producer his dues, however, Dafeet’s sound is far from the generic and formulaic sound that has often been a burden on the genre in recent times and on the contrary, his is a way of working in the studio that sees his music is consistently deliver fresh, emotion drenched vibes. On that basis, his latest outing for his own Lost My Dog imprint label is another real treat as we gear up for his long awaited debut album 'The Root, The Soul' which drops in June.

Titled 'Wife', the new single was originally written back in 2013 in the run up to Pete's wedding and holds a special place in the producer's heart as he explains: "I recorded 'Wife' in the run up to my wedding in 2013. It’s a feel-good anthem and will forever remind me of a blissful, carefree Summer. The release has been a long time coming but it’s great to finally get it out there!"

Mix of the Day : Pete Dafeet

Having made waves in the 90s under as Francesco - supporting the likes of Luke Slater, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, Surgeon and Dave Clarke - a reinvigorated Francesco Terranova has announced his triumphant return to electronic music by serving up today's  Mix Of The Day.

Currently cooking up a storm in the studio for a plethora of different labels -  Bulletdodge, Renesanz, Stick Records and De-Konstrukt will all be housing his work in the coming months - Francesco is also enjoying a bit of a purple patch in the booth DJing at a number of Europe's leading clubs and festivals.

It's his work for EPM Music that has got us tipping him for big things this summer with his two track MAGNETICA / RECOVERY in our heads and on our playlists.  Following on from efforts from Techno luminaries Robert Hood, D-Knox and Dan Curtin the release had plenty to live up to when we heard it but quickly won us over with its deep percussive grooves, both of which show Terranova’s lust for detail which add to his emotive production style. Expect to hear plenty of both cuts when they arrive July 27th.
