Trilucid have become firm favourites with Proton Music after their September 2019 "Glint" and May 2020 "Astral" EPs. Remixes for Pole Folder, Petar Dundov and Rick Pier O'Neil have been immaculate additions as the UK based duo now return with their third original outing and the twin-track "The Loved Are Never Lost".

The title track is a beautifully crafted offering. Particularly poignant for Andy, one half of the Trilucid duo, the melancholic atmosphere is infused with gloriously imagined melodies that evolve effortlessly throughout the piece. Redolent in rich reverbs and delays, a delicate percussive motif hits its stride post-breakdown as a series of swells, pads and white-noise effects add depth. A rolling percussive groove and bouncing bassline sequence then add dancefloor energy in a timeless classic. The strong rhythmic foundation of "One Week Off" creates a sublime cadence in the early phrasing as soaring pads create spine-tingling soundscapes with their epic chord progression. Counterpoint melodies rise out of the rhythmic bedrock, making their presence felt as melodies rise and fall in filtered waves. Emotion pours out of the breakdown before the third movement provides a reprise of the melodies found in the earlier stages.

On remix duties, Vinicius Souza returns to Proton Music with his RIGOONI moniker after a stellar reworking of Savvas' "Reminisce" in February 2022. Having already seen his work a regular on the likes of Anjunadeep, Kindisch and Roger Martinez's Higher States, the RIGOONI remix takes "One Week Off" through its paces via a chunky rhythmic groove and deep, thumping kick, as familiar refrains from the original flow gently across the rhythmic framework. Before long, a sumptuous new melodic refrain makes its presence felt, meandering gently across the 7-minute interpretation. Paying tribute to Trilucid's soundscapes, the track effortlessly blends a swathe of new sound effects and additional production work with remix components to create a delightful new interpretation.

Contributor to a half-century of production credits via the likes of the "Geometria", "Aura Tears" and three-volume "Fantasy" series, Michael A has been a regular on Proton Music since February 2017's "Bright Hope". A prolific artist with further credits on the likes of Sudbeat Music, Replug and his own Genesis Music, the Belarusian returns with a trademark reworking of "The Loved Are Never Lost" that captures the sensitive melodic character of the original while transforming it into a thumping club-friendly groover that drives forward through cadenced bass groove and ticking percussive top-line. Melodies from the original emerge through the dense soundscape as a new rhythmic cadence is created courtesy of the glockenspiel sounding motif that runs through the latter stages. White-noise swells and fizzing effects add to the atmosphere in a sparkling new interpretation.

A tender reminder, Trilucid eloquently illustrate that "The Loved Are Never Lost" with additional contributions from RIGOONI and Michael A.

To kick off our third compilation, YION Waters, here's a lovely little fish pond of a track: 'Wolkenblau' is the combined effort of label co-founder and talk-of-the-town Felix Raphael and CLARA, Berlin-based DJ and passionate YION A&R head, who makes an impressive production debut with this one. A soulful, deeply meditative track, pushed along by playful synths and a front-and-center lead guitar. LIke a clear day's sky reflected in the rippling surface of the water, this track finds beauty in calmness. And beautiful it is!

Producers are the backbone of any label; developing supportive and genuine relationships with our artists is the core principle of XYZ's development. Our Oppo series is an ode to the figures that we feel are at the foundation of the label's journey thus far.

Mitch Oliver has cemented himself as a pillar of XYZ's artistic direction over the last few years. He's caressed two of the imprint's most emblematic tracks to date. Same Light seized attention with a remix from the one-and-only Hernan Cattaneo, before the sensational Alleghanys skyrocketed to global applause. His Exil EP continued his bespoke impact on the label, and now we pass him the wheel on our seminal series - Oppo.

Oppo gives full creative control to the producer, who essentially functions as the label head on the project. Curating sounds from artists around the world who've influenced his journey thus far, as well as a pristine production of his own, Mitch Oliver presents a project that fully represents his tastes as an artist.

On the A-side, Mitch connects with Carl Sylvestre with an instant classic. 'When You Run' cuts deep into the groove, providing soaring emotive energy with sensational vocal work.

Label favorites Death on the Balcony return to XYZ on the B-side. 'One Big Circle' captures all that we love about the British duo, harnessing timeless house tones with blissful spoken word.

Germany's Flowers On Monday continues the backbone of Oppo - deep melodic movement with crisp basslines carrying the groove from start to finish. 'Dream On' is a delightful offering from two of the scenes finest gents.

Mexico's Eduardo McGregor will be well known to the When We Dip family, as he's been an essential artist on our TOR imprint. He comes correct with playful percussion and swaying synthetic sounds on 'The Hunter'.

David Orin is back! The New Yorker never fails to provide the magic. 'Turquoise' welcomes an Eastern edge, as soothing and surreal vibes rise with an underlying quality that is omnipresent with Orin's work.

Closing out this prolific project is a collaboration between Bodaishin & Lupe Republic. 'Oceans' features NiN, with chopped vocal cuts balancing dreamy delights to ease us out of Oppo.

Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital returns for the 2016 edition of its hugely popular ‘MMW / WMC Sampler'.  Now on its third volume, the various artists series has proven to be a highlight in the label’s catalog each year.  In addition to consecutive Beatport Top 10 chart placings, the series has continually showcased some of electronic music's brightest talents.  For the 2016 edition we see the label presenting new music from Antrim, Kasall & Cristian R and Sonic Union, Micah, and Orsen.

The release begins by welcoming Antrim back to the label for his third appearance.  Known for his emotive take on progressive music, the Argentine presents his newest studio creation entitled 'Lucid Closure'.  Beginning with a warm kick and wispy backdrop, Antrim quickly sets a killer foundation with mountainous slabs of bass.  As the cavernous groove charges forward, a melodious motif begins to take shape amidst a wave of firing percussion.  Ethereal in design, its emotional pull is undeniable, ultimately carrying the track into a break full of charming moments.  As clustered keys continue to weave a magical narrative, the surroundings become increasingly intoxicating, before one final rush of white noise and bubbly textures takes you home.
