Penned by Paul Mc Grannate on his first return to our old studio house where new owners had moved in. We had recorded there for many years and it was like a punch in the gut to Paul as he came to the realization that our times together had become the past. When we re-established our friendship I took his words, recorded the music and sang this mournful memoir. M.H. Berry added some heart felt lead guitar. It was a fitting goodbye to our old home.

Tale of lock down at Tim Horton's behind a wall of glass with masks on and attempting to get the washroom key. I see the words Boston Cream come across the till.  So I said washroom key not Boston Cream! So I went for the Boston Cream anyways but karma then took hold when my Uncle Harvey's car bottomed out on a metal construction plate. When we heard the sound Harvey said I wonder what that is? I replied "it's a part of the car".

Every one trapped inside would go to their windows or balconies and bang pots or blow horns to release the tension.

Nobody will ever forget the horror of Sept. 11.
Even 20 years removed, the images are still fresh in the minds of those who witnessed the worst assault on America in history.
So too is the case for Paul Mcgrannate, who, back then was working his day job with the unique hours of 2pm - 10pm. Mon - Fri.
Young Paul, who was always an early riser was up making breakfast in a fog of semi-consciousness when he turned on the TV, & saw, what at first looked to him like some sort of action movie.
But as he watched, the reality of what was happening began to take hold & he, like many was devastated.
Feeling a range of emotions from terror to sadness to anger, Paul was frustrated to the point where he was pacing his livingroom, desperate to do something, ANYTHING to deal with the intense feelings that had been forced upon him.
Paul then sat down & started writing what would eventually become The Sky is Falling & within an hour, he had the whole song written, arranged & ready.

SECURITY - The Sky Is Falling(Re - Master 2024)

SECURITY was a recording project from Vancouver, Canada.

Founded in 1988 by Keyboardists/Vocalists Dan Druff and Paul McGrannate, the project was initially meant to do little more than kill time while working 12-hour shifts as security guards in a commercial Truckyard.

However, a musical kinship developed between the two, and the project quickly gained momentum, as both writers began to churn out song after song.

Eventually, the project evolved to the point where better recording facilities were needed to properly produce the rapidly progressing material.

From 1989 to 1991, SECURITY would alternate between Treetops Studio in North Vancouver
and Cherrywood Studios in Burnaby.
Cherrywood Studios would ultimately become the recording base from where SECURITY would produce their magic.

Various members & guest musicians would come & go through time, all adding to SECURITY's rich catalog of music.

This channel is a chronological record of the songs & the stories that was SECURITY.
