BIG BANG (Iain Williams & Laurence Malice) are an electronic music duo that record with guest vocalists. Prior to BIG BANG, Williams and Malice were in YOU YOU YOU, a London-based club band.
In 1986, across Europe and Scandinavia, club bands were rediscovering former dance music and taking it forward; Army of Lovers in Sweden, Desireless in France, were examples. YOU YOU YOU were part of the renaissance. When YOU YOU YOU disbanded in 1988, Williams and Malice formed BIG BANG. BIG BANG signed to Swanyard Records in 1989 and had club dance hits with their Arabic-inspired version of ABBA’s ‘Voulez Vous’ and their instrumental ‘Cold Nights in Cairo.’ In 1989, the band performed their Arabic Circus Tour.
‘BIG BANG were a combination of everything prior and a signpost for what lay ahead,’ explains Williams. ‘We arrived at exactly the right time. We were also at the forefront  of the ABBA revival.’
