View is Big Hairy Monster's debut album.  It is almost complete, with just final mixing on one song (Open Letter / View Reprise / Afterthought) left and final mastering.  The album tells a story and is meant to be listened through in it's entirety.  As the album is yet incomplete, these are merely demos.  Once completed, the album will flow in one continuous whole.  All lyrics and storyline (so far) have been included in the notes for each song.  We hope that you enjoy our efforts.

The Mind of man rests on a delicate balance between reality, the world of light, and the other darker world below the threshold of consciousness...and it is from this world of darkness which comes the evil, destructive forces in man's nature. Each of you must distinguish for himself between the scenes of cold reality and those of pure illusion...

(Allison was crying when he dropped her off after their evening at the drive in, upset at what her world had become. The police were constantly questioning her about her husband's "accidental" death...and then there was Adam. There were the lingering thoughts of the baby and what could have, what should been. Adam, frustrated with the circumstances and world that surrounds him, angles his dingy old Ford into the darkened night and occasionally glances in the mirror...)

We go through emotions, can't figure you out. Is it all in my head? Why can't I figure you out? One minute I know you, next minute I don't. Is it all in my head? Why can't I figure you out?
Day after day our paths have crossed the same old way. Time after time we find we cross that same old line.

One minute were close and then we're miles apart. Repelling. Attracting. Can't figure it out.
Day after day, we see eye to eye then we're so far away. Time after time we're saying hello and then we're saying goodbye.

Spinning in circles we're caught in a strange twist of fate. Spiral through cycles, we dance through a fate that equates figure eight.

I go through these movements, a sphere all my own. I feel we connect but I feel so alone.
We cross ourselves up in a blink of an eye, unsure of our motives and no alibi. Day after day, I hope that we could meet half way. Time after time, I know our paths will intertwine.

(Glancing back from the mirror toward the darkened road, Adam swerves to avoid an enormous ape-like figure that wanders into the white beam of the old Ford's headlights. A local resident witnesses the horrible scene, as Adam is ejected from his vehicle.)

WITNESS: Come on man, talk to me! You alright? Help is on the way. Keep breathing. Just keep breathing man!

WITNESS: Yeah, I was comin' on down the road northbound, (PARAMEDIC: Clear!) East Mt. Houston Road , a quarter of a mile past the Lake Motel and I came up across this.

OFFICER: What'd you see first?

WITNESS: Well, uh (PARAMEDIC: Clear!) I'd just came up across this mess and I pulled off to the side and I wanted to see if I could help the guy.

PARAMEDIC: Clear!

OFFICER: And that's when you called us?

WITNESS: Yeah, and as I called you I saw this (PARAMEDIC: Clear!) weird Thing off in the distance.

OFFICER: And this thing you said walking off in the distance, what was this?

(PARAMEDIC: Clear!)

LUCIUS: My, my! What a beautiful evening!
CLETUS: Good thing that storm pretty much passed us by.
LUCIUS: Yeah, might've been the cause of some of them sirens we heard earlier.
CLETUS: Hey, you got any more of that lemonade?
LUCIUS: Why sure. Boy, them critters are sure makin' a chatter out there in that there swamp tonight, ya reckon?
CLETUS: Yeah, looks like ol' Virgil's got ahold a'somethin' out there.
LUCIUS: Hey now? What in tarnation? What do you think that might be?
CLETUS: What the hell is that?
LUCIUS: What the hell is that?

My pretentious adolescence led me up around the bend to the fork where path less traveled unraveled without any end.Baring grins and crosses, tossed through childhood's grand designs...left comparing my wins and my losses and I still do that all of the time.I'd contemplate who I'd be forever and I'd watch the sun go down from the roof of the Lake Motel.
 I sat and watched as the wheels rolled by, rolled into the setting sun.On their way to some new horizon, rolling away while my wheels just spun.In a moment of clarity I got up from my patio chair content that the road would rise up to meet me out there, anywhere.I struck a coarse to my best laid plans and all that lay beyond...beyond the roof of the Lake Motel.
Life calls out in the strangest of ways as it leads you to what you are looking for.The dreams that you dream don't appear to extreme, waiting to redeem the kid in the candy store.
