Was a real pleasure to participate to this edition of @zmarfestival, a pinhole made for oddities, where @covahmuzak & Martin welcomed me very warmly. Many faces i missed and haven't seen in a while!
This collage of music might has a lil downer feeling, but heh.

For round #88 we are happy to present you a guest mix by Berlin based young-gun @valentin-hauptmann. He’s among the most tasteful selectors the City has to offer and showcases his various and inspiring discoveries through his Baile De Mainman YT-channel.

For the last weeks live appearance in the Cashmere HQ he has put together a magical trip into the psychedelic heritage of lesser known late sixties garage- and folkrock from UK and the US. Ride on!

For my closing set I took over from Riccardi Schola, who graced our premiere by playing Tränen In Der Nacht four times that night. -  According to him due to the fact that he was confused by the 4 sides of the new record and not at all due to the Spritz he was enjoying with relish throughout the night.
BTW Riccardi's very own and second solo EP will be out soon on a private press 7" sparkling with two Italo songs.
My selection I played from vinyl however is all over Europe and Canada. - Although ... I can sense a certain French touch of mid 80's synth pop before I shift the energy to my obscure Neue Deutsche Welle edits.
I remember the elevating feeling to see one of my favorite DJ's Cid Hohner, dancing with his unmatched smile on his face during the last 30 minutes of this night.

He is a DJ who doesn't merely take you on another drum journey, but adds an extra dimension where preconception doesn't apply. It can take a while to get used to it though. With the groundbreaking Mixtura mixes, he rediscovered and brought together European disco tracks that had been lost and forgotten since the heydays, Albion defined his own sound, which he refers to as Continental Disco Sound.
