Sunset Lovers show is continuing to spread sunny and  Balearic vibes with an extraordinary mix from Manu Archeo - a label boss, DJ, photographer, and record collector from Florence, Italy.

Having spent five years studying the classic drums at a young age, Manu’s passion for music soon took over in the early ’90s, and with his expertise and vast musical knowledge of the Balearic scene earned top DJ slots, working as DJ at private parties, festivals and many clubs and bars of Florence and other cities in Italy (Milan, Perugia, Bologna, Rome, Palermo), Europe (London, Paris, Berlin) and worldwide (NYC, Rio). 

His label, Archeo Recordings is a re-issue record label that regenerates old, lost, obscure, and forgotten rare gems of mostly Italian music but also all over the world of the '70s, 80's, and 90's for a wider audience of collectors, DJs, and music lovers. Tony Esposito, Tullio De Piscopo, Blue Gas, Roberto De Simone, and Riccardo Giagni are just some of the mind-blowing names that the label has played host to in recent years.

All releases are licensed, hand-numbered limited edition, and the first copies are usually pressed in coloured vinyl. Audio tracks re-mastered in their original form, and sleeves re-created for today, but all based on the original images.

This very special mix for the Sunset Lovers brings you some of his favorite tracks from the last few years and some exclusive records from Archeo releases.

Alessandro Rebella (Ale Rebi) classe '73, savonese, si avvicina alla musica funk attraverso il cinema blaxploitation e soprattutto di genere italiano anni 60/70 (è tuttora uno dei tre gestori/collaboratori della Pollanet Squad, punto di riferimento per gli amanti del poliziesco all'italiana anni 70); la passione per il cinema di genere italiano lo porta a collezionare sin dall'adolescenza colonne sonore, soprattutto, poliziesche dove il "crime funk" di artisti del​ calibro, ad esempio, del maestro Micalizzi lo introduce a quel tipo di sound. Amante, inoltre, delle sonorità disco/funk/pop, made in Italy, anni 70/80 e' sempre alla ricerca di 45 giri o album che possano portare alla luce gemme italiane del passato il più delle volte oscure e sconosciute. In anticipation for his upcoming visit to Lima and his appearance at our next matinée on Saturday 8th of July, we have the immense pleasure to welcome Harari for the next episode of our selector series. 

Harari is a music collector from Buenos Aires and one of the two curators of 'Síntesis Moderna' - a compilation of obscure and mostly synth-laden gems released on Soundway Records in 2022 that we enjoyed quite a lot. Harari draws on ample experience as a dj and selector, seeing him also frequenting booths in Europe. In his home country Argentina he steers the party Highlife. 

For the current mix of the selector series, Harari took a deep dive into his record collection and prepared a trip across a wide spectrum of sounds, from Argentinian and Brazilian Jazz, Funk and World music from the 70s followed by a more electronic theme covering 80s and 90s sound from Europe and some contemporary releases, guaranteed to get you moving!

He is a DJ who doesn't merely take you on another drum journey, but adds an extra dimension where preconception doesn't apply. It can take a while to get used to it though. Because sophistication never went out of style, it just took more than three decades to catch up with it. And when the coin finally dropped, Albion was there to pick it up. In 2004 he realized that he could set out on a musical journey that no DJ had done before him. Over the last years he has recorded more than a hundred mixes and has steadily built up a worldwide following.

With the groundbreaking Mixtura mixes, he rediscovered and brought together European disco tracks that had been lost and forgotten since the heydays, Albion defined his own sound, which he refers to as Continental Disco Sound.
