Love the beat and use of REZ samples. Would sound a lot more tech if the vocals went through a few more filters. And the lyric expansion from "Fear is the mind killer" is a great idea, but if you use the passages of the book the phrase was taken from it would sound awesome laid over the beat - "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Folktronica trio TRIGAIDA, comprised of Asya Pincheva (vocals), Ivan Shopov (electronics), and multi-instrumentalist Georgi Marinov (Horhe) returns with “Rofinka” EP. This very special digital-only release offers several interpretations of the legendary folklore piece of the same name. 

The music was produced by Ivan Shopov and TRIGAIDA in collaboration with various guest musicians and composers including the vocal choir from NUFI Shiroka Lyka, conducted by Gancho Gavazov. 

TRIGAIDA breathe new life into this eternal piece of traditional Bulgarian music by juxtaposing their own blend of folk and electronic fusion to a plethora of genres and music styles. In the EP we find “Rofinka” translated into a high-octane drum’n’bass remix, a cinematic orchestral composition, a folk-influenced heavy metal hard-hitter, and a chilled-out ambient soundscape.

Since the age of 12, the Swiss producer Calixte Mayoraz, also known as Big Skapinsky has been making electronic music. It was when attending college that he first started performing as a DJ for various school events. This caught some notoriety within the college crowd of Lausanne, Switzerland and coincided with the release of his first EP, Evolusic. A few years later, he was signed to Hestia Records and released  Golden Ratio. As the track did not gain much attention, Mayoraz decided to continue releasing his music on his own and for free. After publishing his work on Patreon, he released his first crowdfunded EP Around the Block. Many singles followed, mostly released on SoundCloud or BandCamp, such as Vanquishing the Demons and his cover of Thirteen Senses track, Into The Fire. In March 2017, Skapinsky released his first Album, titled Overdue due to the fact that he had been working on and off on it for three years. 

His inspirations have evolved over the years. Initially being brought up with the sound of The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers, he later found great inspiration from the works of deadmau5, Feed Me, or Madeon. In the last few years, his style has widened to include tracks inspired by the likes of Infected Mushroom, Electric Universe, Sub Focus, Camo & Krooked, and Pendulum.
