In 2009 Auke Hulst released his solo-debut The Hidden Shape, using the nom de guerre Sponsored by Prozac. The album originally was part of a multimedia-project, being a companion piece to Auke's novel Wolfskleren. He was supported on the album by session players Theun Supheert, Christof Bauwens and Hans Hulst (who would later team up to form De Meisjes with Auke). Sarah Meuleman provided guest vocals and Caspar Falke of Silvox Records was co-producer and mixing engineer. Auke Hulst is the frontman of the Dutch band De Meisjes. He also produces music as a solo artist, using the moniker Sponsored by Prozac. In the Netherlands he is best known as a novelist and travel writer, having written novels like Kinderen van het Ruige Land (Children of the Savage Land, 2012) and Slaap zacht, Johnny Idaho (Sleep Tight, Johnny Idaho, 2015) and the Jack Kerouac-inspired travelogue De eenzame snelweg (The Lonely Highway, 2007, with artist Raoul Deleo).
