An old track from 1989 but washed through T Racks 3 in 2015 just to boost the bottom end. It was recorded on a Fostex X26, Synth used was Casio 101, drum machine Roland TR626. Main FX was Yamaha R100 reverb. The backing vocal was Maureen Cusitor from Orkney. 

When It Rains

Missing You is an instrumental from my "1st album" The Realisation recorded in 1987. Recorded on Fostex X15, synth Casio CZ101, drum machine was a hired Korg KPR77. I also used an Omnichord for the harp sound during the first verse. Lastly in the outro I used a Casio SK1 sampling keyboard. 

Missing You

A wee "pop" ditty from my latest album which I've been working on for, well 25 years. You thought the Blue Nile were slow. Yes, this was recorded in around 1989. Drum machine was Roland TR626, Lorenzo 12 string acoustic, Recorded onto Fostex X26. Main FX was Yamaha R100 and Alesis Midifex. The "drum solo" at the end was NOT programmed but was me hitting the drum pads on the Roland. 

Mrs B & Susan

Another from the late 80s, early 90s. Pure synth with some heavy fuzz chords. The lyrics are well dated now and when I re-record, something I plan to do with all my stuff, the lyrics will be updated to reflect todays society and events. 

Terminal Fraud

1989 again. Taken from my "2nd album" The Dream Sequence which is a semi concept instrumental album...woo how pretentious....lol. This track is inspired by Bolero by Ravel. Same kind of motif. The stuttering synth effect was my Casio CZ101 going through a noise gate which was triggered by drum machine. It was something I was doing way before so called pop records were doing it. The Uig Triangle is a ferry route operated by Cal-Mac going between Uig on the Isle of Skye, Lochmaddy in North Uist and Tarbert on the Isle of Harris. I was at the launch of a Cal-Mac ship "Lord of the Isles"  in 1989 and this is what inspired me to compose this track.

Based on an episode in my life. This was recorded back in 1993 (relatively newer than the other tracks).  Main instrument was Lorenzo 12 string guitar. Main keyboard was Yamaha SY22 and Drum machine Roland TR626. 

Scapegoat

This track © Craig A Hunter July 2015 (this upload) 1985 - 2015. The Knife was recorded around 1987 in a long defunct 8 track studio called Rocking Horse Studios outside Bathgate. I along with other people were in a night school class at the local college, class being Electronic Music run by a Kenny Matthews. We were tasked with writing a song then recording it in the studio, a collaboration. Nobody came up with anything so I offered one of my own songs. John McGregor played drums, not exactly playing to click track but Kenny Matthews sitting beside him tapping put the beats on a note pad or something. John was brilliant, couple of drum fills which I still love to this day. Gary Johnston played the sax solo, gave him free reign and basically he nailed it straight away. I rushed the mix that's why the vocals are so low down. 

The Knife

The title track of my "second album" called The Dream Sequence. This is a semi concept instrumental. The whole album is instrumental. This was recorded around 1988 / 1989 on a Fostex X26. As usual the main instrument was the Casio CZ101. Done in the days before sequencers, everything was played live by me to a click track of some 130 bpm.

Wide Singles

I thought, what the hell. My old music was sitting there in my laptop doing bugger all. May as well let people hear it. Yes, it's old, mostly circa late 80s, early 90s, recorded onto cassette 4 track, basic synths, drum machines and FX...but it is all my own work. I do plan to re-record everything, keeping the essence but with new sounds and technologies (and changes to lyrics). Did I tell you I'm 61, so not exactly a spring chicken but hey, if Mick Jagger can do it then so can I.  Feel free to comment on the music and to follow me if you want.
