The Remixes collection is a full-length re-imagination of "A Color Map of the Sun." Derek Vincent Smith – aka Pretty Lights – invited producers from a wide stylistic spectrum to remix the tracks from his latest album. Derek produced "A Color Map of the Sun" with no intention of having it be an album of dance floor bangers, but rather a collection of music that can be enjoyed anyplace, anytime, all the time.

These 'Remixes' are other artists’ interpretations of his compositions and self made vinyl samples. The tracks are mostly intended to be hard hitting, but they are also just very different. See the track list below for all artists involved in the Pretty Lights’ "A Color Map of the Sun Remixes."

Brighter Future - The time track off of our album. We wanted this tune also to be sort of an anthem and a calling on all people to step up to the plate and do their part to turn this world around and get us moving in the right direction towards a brighter future. We love how Naaz took the concept and ran with it and wrote something that would resonate with people everywhere around the world.

Highly Possible - I remember hearing Waka Flocka do a remix of a J Cole record a couple years ago. It was straight 90's hip hop style and he killed the verse on it. I made this tune one day and thought it would be dope to have some talk box vocals on it. I grew up on jazz and funk and hip hop records so i wanted it to be something that reminded me of that era. My boy Joey Porter from The Motet plays the talk box like no one I've ever heard today, he is a beast! I wrote the lyrics and he came over and did his thing and we laid down the premise for the song. I sent the track over to Waka and he loved it. He sent back straight flames! All of the planets aligned on this one and this is by far one of the dopest collaborations on this album.

"I originally wrote this song about my brothers ex-gf but then it turned into a funky middle fingers up but celebratory and super swaggerific f*ck you to anyone who done you mad dirty. 

While I was coming up with the hook, it was undeniable that somehow the whole time this song was being written for Cherub, they were the perfect fit. We’ve wanted to work on a song for a long time. GRiZ and Cherub is like wake and bake, starsky and hutch, doses and mimosas." -G
