When the local forestry industry stopped tree felling … during the start of Nationals / New Zealands housing crisis…. and when growing numbers of NZ kids along with their familys were forced to live in cars, or other substandard, overpriced, overcrowded and unhealthy accommodation ,,, forestry workers laid off when we should have been building houses for our people.

It’s happening again,,,, with the guys who do the most dangerous jobs in the country ,, cutting down the trees that gives us the timber to build houses with ,,,, getting  laid off and treated like nothing ,,, while our unaffordable housing crisis and its hardship on familys grinds on.

Speculators get rich from the ‘ housing market’ and its all about the money ,,, the money,,, the money.... John key made 1 million per year on his house while prime minister ... $1,000,000 per year for no work ...
... The dreams of the rich result in a nightmare for most.... Job insecurity, housing insecurity, debt for the young, poverty for families … it all cuts and claws at our people.

Haami Ngarimu  was a father, Imperfect and flawed like all  of us ,  a loved member  of his Whanau and proud member  of his Iwi ,,, he had to bear the crushed hope of our descent into a land of cruel greed  and economic segregation..
