Έφυγα απ' το Φαραώ της Αιγύπτου τη σκλαβιά,
μ' αρχηγό το Μωυσή έφτασα ως το Σινά.

Στο Σινά να ανεβώ ώ! Πολύ το επιθυμώ,
στην Αγία κορυφή και να λέω την ευχή.

Η ανάβασις σκληρή, Θεέ μου δος μου υπομονή,
καρτερία και αντοχή, ν' αποκτήσω την ευχή.

Πρώτα η υπακοή, η Γραφή και το κελί,
κι η αγία σιωπή δυναμώνουν την ευχή.

Την ευχή για να τη λες πρέπει από το μυαλό,
να πετάξεις μακριά κάθε πράγμα κοσμικό.

Στην αρχή, την ευχή να τη λες προφορικά,
κι ύστερα από καιρό θα σου γίνει νοερά.

Και στα λόγια της ευχής να' ναι όλη η προσοχή,

For the purpose of preparing a video for the monastic song called “In midst of desert beauty” professional teams consisting of a photography manager, producer, montage master and a director, have spent a significant time at the Bigorski sanctuary, truing with all their skill to successfully catch and put on a camera the everyday life in this Monastery. We are talking about a song which is a form of presentation of monastic everyday life, originally created by an Athonite monk, which the Bigorski brothers managed to translate and sing, thus creating a composition which attracts with its wonderful verses expressing the profoundness of monastic life, and with its warm archaic melody successfully conveys the mystical ambience in which the monk lives and works. The arrangement for this song was made by Vladimir Dimovski and it was recorded at the “Alshar” Music Studio, with Ivica Jankulovski.

Станува збор за песна која е своевиден приказ на монашкото секојдневие, составена од светогорски монах, што Бигорското братство ја преведе и препеа, создавајќи композиција која плени со прекрасните стихови што ја искажуваат длабочината на монашкиот живот, а архаичната мелодија, пак, успешно го пренесува мистичниот амбиент во кој живее и се движи монахот.

Monastery of St. Jovan (John) Bigorski (Macedonian: Свети Јован Бигорски/St.Jovan Bigorski) is an important Macedonian monastery located in western part of the Republic of Macedonia, near the road connecting the towns of Debar and Gostivar.  The monastery church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. According to the monastery's 1833 chronicle, it was built in 1020 by Archbishop Jovan. The Ottomans destroyed the monastery in the XVI century. The monastery was restored in 1743 by the monk Ilarion, who also built several monk cells. Later, in the period from 1812 to 1825 the monastery was expanded by archimandrite Arsenius. Among the donors there is also a mention of a monk Iov, recognized by some researchers as the future educator Joakim Krcovski. One of the most valuable treasures of the monastery is the iconostasis created by Petre Filipovski Garkata and Makarie Frckovski from the nearby village of Gari. This iconostasis is considered one of the most beautiful and most valuable wood-carved iconostasis in the orthodox religion. Another valuable monastery treasure is an icon dating from 1020 with supposedly miraculous healing power.
