Max Sinàl has been releasing and DJing for 25 years under several aliases since starting on East London’s pirate radio circuit.
The Max Sinàl guise was born in 2023 to coincide with the launch of Soul Quest Records, a label founded by Max and two close friends. This new direction lets Max concentrate on making and playing the music he loves. Influenced by jazzy Detroit house and mixed with a distinctive London edge.

"The mix was recorded in one take at home on 2 x CDJ2000nxs2,s, 2 x 1210’S and a Condesa Carmen V. The vibe is mainly laid back deep house with a few of my productions thrown in and the first play for something forthcoming on my label as well as some of the favourites that never leave my box and some new bits."

From humble beginnings of a quiet English market town, his passion for soulful dance music has taken him to play alongside many of the finest UK and International house DJ’s. Brought up on a diet of weekly radio shows from Kiss FM DJ's Paul 'Trouble’ Anderson and Bobbi & Steve providing the perfect education jump starting the soon to follow insatiable thirst for the 1000's and 1000's of records in his collection. Music ethic has always been to keep an eye on the new but never forgetting the old and this is representative of his DJ sets; where you will hear upfront tracks alongside those rare 1993/94 dubs and house and garage belters.

DJ wise, one quarter of the London's Soulfulbeats DJ collective who has provided the capital with some of the best soulful party moments, playing alongside the talents of Sean McCabe, Groove Assassin, Phil Asher and Craig Smith, but also guesting at many of the UK's finer house music events alongside the likes of Louie Vega and Paul ‘Trouble' Anderson.

Edition 12 of our Grooveology series has us hosting Jeff Swiff from Minneapolis in the US. Jeff is a producer of predominantly deep house music which spans across multiple formats including dusty jazz to bumpin swing house. He has released original productions and remixes on such labels as Blur, Scruniversal & Sugar Shack Records.

A Minneapolis dance music enthusiast and DJ with over a decade of strong roots in all that is funky, bouncy and jazzy (with a tint of soul) is finally pulling from these elements of love and dance floors, and infusing these ideas into his productions. Jeff Swiff has been focusing on what moves the soul and combines these influences, to create memorable sounds with essential vibes. When asked, why house music? “When I found house, the sounds took me to a different place and really set the tone for how the rest of my life would feel, and I’ve spent every moment since then trying to share the essential feeling that the music brings me to the heads in my community and across the world.”

Together with Christian James, he runs the incredible Nicewon Recordings where the pair express their production talent in purveying deep, rolling and groovy beats. Nicewon have been releasing wonderfully sounding EPs since 2017 and continue the press forward with rich deep house joints to this day

Son of Sound is an exciting longtime project from New York Resident Henry Maldonado with consistent and classy releases stretching back to 2006. His latest release the Machines on the Dresser EP has just dropped on his own District 30 label.

The new EP is one of the stand out selections of house music to drop on the LV desk in the last few months so we tracked Henry down to ask him about the EP and his career. Enrique Jimenez aka Big Pack is the House Salad Music label boss out of Mexico City. He discovered his love for electronic music in the mid 90's when he attended house and techno parties with local DJs. From then on, his intimate love affair with house music began. The sound of Chicago with labels like Cajual and Relief and Prescription brought him the most inspiration. His whole trajectory changed and music became his life. The task of discovering music became an infinite loop of collecting records. After 11 years of touring dance floors as a spectator and amateur DJ, in 2005 he acquired his first turntables, technics 1200s. When he finally felt he had an extensive vinyl collection, he decided to venture into the world of DJing professionally.
Now, with some years of experience, Big Pack has played in key clubs all over Mexico, opening for artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Chez Damier, Felipe Gordon, Demuja, Guti, Brett Johnson, Phil Weeks, Wally Callerio, Andrew Emil, JT Donaldson, Oliver Dollar, 1200 Warriors, to name a few.

He is busy with several internet radio show residencies on Radio Webphre and So What Radioshow in Canada and Radio Electronica Jena in Germany and his own podcast & label, House Salad Music, featuring the best DJs in house music. 

Convinced of the timelessness of music, his mixes are a real tunnel of time, where he plays classics combined with the freshest of modern house.
