The Maiden of the Matrix is the first track Kita and Maude Vôs have written together in 7 years. Prior to their solo projects they produced music together for a number of years as a duo. Rewinding even further back, “Kita and I met on a dance floor over 10 years ago and were instantly soul bonded. She was my first real collaborator and mentored me through the beginning of my production journey. She continues to inspire me to find my voice, dig into my well of experience and to ground into what feels aligned with my soul purpose”. Kita has lived in Bali for the last 5 years, as a sound healer at the Temples of Chi. “Although life has pulled us sonically and physically in different directions, this song reflects our continued connection over the past decade”. The Maiden of the Matrix more specifically delves into unity through community especially in the chaos of the world. During these times we must continue to open our hearts, and show up meaningfully; this will be the remedy, the anchor and the expander.

Shimmering with metallic warmth, fluid melodies, and dark tension, Maude Vôs’ productions and live performances are marked by an infectious energy and multifaceted enthusiasm for creating and connecting. Channeling the organic flow of a studio wired with a panoply of hardware gear, the Los Angeles-based artist has cultivated a growing catalog of distinctive releases and remixes alongside their professional work as a sound designer and composer. As a DJ, their sparkling, psychedelic mixes are filled with lush atmospheres, whispered vocals, and synthesizer music of all genres. Vôs appears in the book Patch and Tweak with Korg (Bjooks, 2022), was recently named an artist to watch by DJ Mag, and has been featured by SPIN Magazine and Perfect Circuit. Dynamic and deeply felt, their creativity shines with an optimistic, expansive vision of mutual exchange and soul connection. 

Step into the Maude Vôs matrix full of booming, breathtaking bass and echoing melodies, complete with vicious flows and rolling rhythms that’ll have you ready for more. This is one of those projects that makes you melt right from the start. This is one of those “yeah this is my personality now” kind of projects. Based between Nantes and Brest, marino2 is closely linked to the local scene, notably through his collaborative work with Dites Safran. The french dj/producer joins the catalog 6 club-oriented tracks. This first EP unveils a unique blend of bass club, indus and downtempo elements, promising a captivating and immersive sonic experience, so dear to its author.

Drifting from Lyon yet under the radar as always, Big Science records might smash the speed camera with its 12th release, a mini LP from marino2. To be released in cassette and digital files on June 25, the sometimes-Brest-sometimes-Nantes-based producer (Are u breton or not dude? you got to choose your side at some point!) delivers here his own sci-fi sound-designed blend of industrial reggaeton and schyzophrenic bass-yet-downtempo club burners. No highway shall lead you to such dark places, though swerve right into the ditch by the roadside and you'll reach your destination!

Out in the countryside there was a sense of ethereal peace and quiet which was hard to find amidst the towering buildings and the densely populated city from which he came. He watched as the trees blew sofftly in the breeze as the rain began to fall from the ominous grey clouds which hung low overhead. Some might be bothered by the sombre weather and the bleak lay of the land but he was not - it reflected the tone of voice which ran through his head. He let out a scream which echoed in the valley and set him free. 

Liam Robertson is set to release an EP on Redstone Press, a record label from Scotland which originated in the Highlands and is now based in Glasgow. The EP is forward thinking and channels elements of city soundscapes and the wild which lies beyond. One to watch.
