I'm getting to grips with GarageBand, this is the first track that's come close to being complete. Vocal is newly elected ACT party leader Don Brash guesting on a student radio show a few years back. The woman's voice is Madonna's.

Hair of the Don

This is essentially the same as Hair of the Don, albeit with louder vocals. A few listeners commented they couldn't hear what was being said. For those outside New Zealand Don Brash is a former Reserve Bank head who took over the leadership of the centre right National Party but was ousted after losing an election to the then-incumbent Labour government. He made a comeback (sort of) as head if the right wing, all but insignificant ACT party. His time there was short-lived after he failed to ignite voters and fell on his sword.

Electro rock version of a Flaming Stars live favourite called originally entitled Bo Diddley is a Masturbator. Recorded at Capture Studios in Gisborne New Zealand in the mid 80s and originally appearing on Capture Compilation '87. Features Flaming Stars vocalist Simon Vita and Martin Kirk from both the Flaming Stars and Wasp Factory as well as guest spots from producer Maurice Priestley.

In the mid-80s I performed in The Flaming Stars, a post punk outfit and along with band mate Martin Kirk formed F-Star records.
We released our own music and that of our friends on the Gisborne-based label.
