All cover tunes with the exception of “Magic Garden,” Singing In My Soul was done to showcase Lisa’s ability to take a cover tune and in put enough of her personal touch in it to make it her own so to speak.  Recorded with Ricky Nye and the Paris Blues Band this one highlights her abilities beautifully.  To say that it has a timeless quality would be silly as most of the tunes are from a day long gone by.  What I found perhaps most impressive is her ability to choose tunes so well.  The songs sound as if they were written for her and the band specifically.

One of my favorites to sing. Tony Braunagel produced this album and it was a joyful experience during the recording of this record. Love Jim Pugh's piano on this one too.

Love the horn intro on this from Darrell Leonard and Joe Sublett. Another favorite to sing and love the sentiment

Wild Stage of Life

Rollicking gospel song with Larry Fulcher on bass. Background singing by Kudisan Kai, Maxanne Lewis, Will Wheaton and Leslie Smith. We had a ball with this one.

Eric Bibb penned this beautiful tune. Don't you EVER let NOBODY drag your spirit down. Johnny Lee Schell is masterful with the guitar work on this one.

Over the past several years, Lisa Biales has been busy recording and singing the Blues.  She released Just Like Honey in 2012 on her own Big Song Music record label with EG Kight and Paul Hornsby producing the critically acclaimed release.  Michael Jonathan of WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour took notice of Lisa’s crystal pure voice and offered her a spot on his beloved radio/TV broadcast. Francis Ford Coppola enjoyed a Lisa Biales performance so much so that he called her up and asked her to be in his film, “Twixt,” where Biales portrays a waitress named Ruth (and *Bonus) she picks up the guitar and sings.  

In 2013, Biales backed by Ricky Nye and The Paris Blues Band recorded Singing in My Soul, an up-beat early Jazz and Blues album. Again the critics loved Lisa’s music and the album won the Cincinnati Blues Society’s Best Self Produced CD and garnered Biales a spot at the August 2014 Cincinnati Blues Fest. 

In 2014, Biales releases her 9th CD, Belle of the Blues, produced by EG Kight and Paul Hornsby, was nominated for the prestigious Blues Blast Music Award for Acoustic Blues Album.  It features Southern rock legend Tommy Talton (Cowboy) on guitar.  Biales, who is known for her clear as a bell singing voice, has been dubbed a fitting “Belle of the Blues.”
