i uploaded an early rough version of this, but replaced the file with a more finished song. new choruses, some new lyrics, some lyrics have stayed the same.

another update: i changed this song again, adding a few new chords. the overall melodic feel is a bit more melancholic, which i think is a better fit for the lyrics and the emotions i wanted to get across.

KAWAKAWA

This song started forming about 10 years ago, when some of the verse lyrics came to me when I was trying to walk off the stress of work. 

Like most of my music on here, this song is assembled from half-formed ideas I've had for a long time, but never brought together until I started experimenting with music-making during the enforced alone time of the pandemic. My songs are made with a very basic setup (my laptop, my guitar, me - I don't even have a proper microphone!). Everything you hear besides the vocals and guitar is software instrumentation.
