We met for the first time at our campus, an Jakarta Institute of Art, Indonesia. At that time we made a band just to fill our spare time. We performed at some music gigs in our school. To make a long story short, we decided to established BIKINIES on December 20th, 2003.

Bikinies name itself was came out from our friend. We were inspired by the spirit and performance of many musician / band of women like Dara Puspita, The Donnas, Blondie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Cardigans, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Elastica, Jossie and the Pussycat, The Runaway, etc.
We still continue to learn and explore about our music. Now, we started using distortion, synth, loud beating drums, and faster tempo into our musical arrangements. We called our music "punk pop".

In 2005, we participated in Thursday Riot Compilation & donated one of our songs called "Like An Idiot." Late in 2007, for the second time we donated one song called C'mon in the compilation album "24 Hour Campus Hits vol.2"

So, until now.. We keep playing our music to satisfy our soul and hope we can also bring a lot of fun, lot of joy and happiness to everyone when they hear our riot song...

We're just an ordinary women who try to play music and whisper your heart with our confusion lyric.. Don't feel blue, cause we'll patch like a glue.. :)
