Today we kick off our mixtape series with a vinyl selection from Wyndham @wyndhamelliot - eldest brother, co-founder and chief digger for our channel. The mix features many records from the late 90’s / early 00’s, which takes the listener on a ride through the past and into the future. 

We will be asking each of our artists for a short statement or quote that appears on the mixtape to give a feel for what to expect, or not as the case may be.

"I’m always on the hunt for obscure and interesting records. Freaky records that have lots of character and individuality about them. There is no point in paying big money for them because there are plenty of affordable options. I almost never spend more than a few euros on records.

For this mix I’ve put together a selection of varying styles that change back and forth between breakbeat and 4x4 grooves whilst trying to remain sonically coherent and always on a journey tip. In addition to a serious selection I wanted to try and incorporate different styles of mixing and phrasing to keep things interesting.

This took me a little while to put together. For me deejaying is ultimately about sharing and without parties during lockdown I hadn’t been so inspired to mix, instead spending most of my time writing tunes. I had however been steadily building this selection of bangers since April. These went through numerous refinements and finally after dusting off my skills put together in the form you hear here.
