NY based producer, Bilapae Beats began making music when he was 16 years old and began writing and performing when he co-founded the now New Paltz based band, Moonunitt. Starting his solo career at 20 he started releasing beats on Soundcloud. Teaming up with local artists Huddle and Nine Seven Pta he self taught himself how to mix/master music, adding his own production flavor to each of their respected albums. Today he is primed to release his own work on Spotify with an amalgamation of all that he has learned from experience and his peers.  You can usually find him performing at hometown local haunts such as the Sing Sing Kill Brewery, The Boathouse in Ossining, The Stood at Purchase College, or at Snugs Bar in New Paltz. 

From sample driven beats to psychedelic pop, listeners can expect to hear an array of stylistic and sound choices. While his style tends to lean toward “throwing something at a wall and seeing what sticks,” the final product released will make any listener believe that every sound was intentional. Many of his sounds are sample driven. Jazz chords, hip hop styled drums with percussive elements, psychedelic guitar, are all flowing over a laid back tempo. He errs on the side of smooth and dreamy but don’t be surprised at a few of the rougher, harder hitting beats he has in his catalogue. His influences range from J-Dilla and The Alchemist to Khruangbin and the Grateful Dead. He absorbs all forms of music and one way or another it comes out in his musical stylings.  

If you’re unable to catch him live be sure to be on the lookout for his next album titled, “Orbit” which he is currently in the process of recording. Singles should be expected within the following month.

When he is not producing or engineering for himself or others he is still hard at work mixing and mastering for nOMad’s (a yoga and wellness company) The Space in Between podcast. 

As an up and coming producer, Bilapae Beats is not someone you want to miss out on.
