The Seeker

My then 8-year-old son wrote and performed this little comedy track, with a bit of help from his old man. I promised I wouldn't play this to anyone, but now that he's an adult of 23 I think I'm safe (for now).

A song written very early - back in 1984 or thereabouts - which I re-recorded in 1992 on my trusty Tascam 4-track cassette portastudio to present as a possible number for my band at the time. Unfortunately it was rejected, but I always thought it had potential in the hands of the right band. Sadly, I wasn't in the right band for this song...

An experiment I made back in the late 80's on my 4-track tape recorder. Lot's of bouncing of three tracks onto 1, etc. Part of a series of test songs I worked on without any lyrics at that time. I may yet come up with some, but in the meantime here it is.

Interlude #2

Another experiment from the late 80's. An exercise in emulating one of my guitar heroes (no prizes for guessing Who? - See what I did there!). Two songs, really, joined in the middle a bit painfully. Part of the same group of songs without lyrics that were more finger-stretching exercises.

A very old demo from the mid-80's (hence the ancient-sounding drum track). Originally written as a comment on the Thatcher government's love affair with Reagan, it seems to have come full circle. Written and performed with appropriate youth-inspired bile by B. Hart, using an old Fostex 4-track tape recorder.

Written many, many years ago and recorded as many years ago. A song about some of the people I met in oh-so-many pubs when I had the stamina to go to the pub in the first place.

I started with an acoustic 'guide' track for this, planning to add on the electric guitar,s, piano and proper bass. Once more, plenty of mistakes, but somehow I rather like this purely acoustic take so thought I'd add it as a work in progress. A cover of a Rockpile number, taken from Seconds of Pleasure.
