EX.128 In Review

Ahhh finally a new Safe Radio episode. 

Safe Radio S07E02 is the longest so far in the series - more specifically 5 hours and 31 minutes. It consists of 78 tracks that i've been listening to and playing out since last episode. As per usual we're riding from ambient over downtempo to club/dance music.

I've been wanting to put some of the tracks from this episode in my other mixes, but somehow couldn't crack the code until now. I'm obviously super excited about finding a way to finally get [ some of ] these tracks into one of my mixes. 

Big shout out to everyone who are sending messages and showing interest in my music and what I do. I hope you like this one too ;-)

C.K - Safe Radio S07E02

Jane Fitz took the stage twice with a B2B set this at rural 2024, and she appeared on the final day with her musical partner Jade Seatle, who co-hosts the DIY party “Night Moves” in their home, London. The final day started out rainy, but ended up with sunny skies. This set was deeply connected with such a dramatic ending. Enjoy this euphoric collection of left-field tech house gems.

equilibrio Festival 2024 | Vlada

After a little hiatus the mix series is back with our 6th mix coming from the fantastic @stephenhowe. Stephen is a DJ with tangents in all directions tucked up his sleeves, with bouncy minimal, squelchy facemelting bangers and bleepy breaky electro all part of his repertoire, he hosts a Refuge Show and has recent sets out on Awkwardly Social (as 'Ecki Pirates' together with the last DJ on our mix series, Deejay Slug), Astral Cast and Keep Hush. Perhaps seeing himself as more of a producer than a DJ, Stephen has released music on Rhythym Section, Astral VIP & rebirth as well as his own EPs : 'Mimesis' on Welt Discos & his most recent release on Flux White 'FXWL 24A'

This mix is an unusual one from our series, being a recording from a non-worthwhile tangents event, but Stephen got in touch with us to say he was really happy to recently get the chance to play a very free set on a very nice soundsystem at Tresor's Aurora Bar and he took the opportunity to play this grungy downtempo set, capturing all of our feelings of the cold grey Berlin winter - we're super excited to be able to share it with more people as the next mix in our series!

Starting with splashy breaks and distorted bass, with groovy percs scattered throughout, this mix gives way to more organic sounds and the feeling of spring hope as it comes to a close.

Freerotation is a festival we've played for the last seven years. It's the only festival we've played so regularly, and it's an incredibly special place to all three of us.
 
This is the first time we've shared a recording of a set the three of us have played in a club or festival setting, and it feels right that it is a recording from there. This year we played the penultimate set on the final night in the second room, before Objekt closed it out (which you can hear here - https://soundcloud.com/keinobjekt/freerotation-2015-closing-set). Unfortunately the final 15 minutes were lost, but this is almost the entirety of our three hour set.
