DJ José Padilla was and still is a huge influence, in particular his early to mid nineties period as resident DJ at the now iconic Café Del Mar in Ibiza, where he would provide an eclectic, emotive, chilled-out and yet simultaneously powerful soundtrack to the setting sun. Anyone who was fortunate enough to be there back in the day will testify that they experienced something truly special. José sadly passed away in 2020, his musical legacy and pioneering spirit will live on. This mix is a loving tribute to José Padilla (1955-2020) - The Godfather Of Chill

Welcome to this special Word Is Love show playing tribute to the late Andrew Weatherall and his seminal club night, A Love From Outer Space (ALFOS), that he partnered with his fellow Space side kick Sean Johnston (Hardway Bros). 

The show covers remixed tracks by Noel Gallagher and Grace Jones with music by Andrew Weatherall, Hardway Bros, Psychemagik, Hot Toddy and Ewan Pearson plus a bunch more top tracks.

The show takes you on a journey through the Spaced Out Hypnotic Groove that is the trade mark of A Love From Outer Space and is the first part of 2 shows. 

I wanted to share the vibe of this amazing club night with a selection of my personal favorite tracks.

All tracks are selected and mixed by @thefunkassassin with an enormous amount of Love & deepest Respect.
