Led by dynamic young singer-songwriter/guitarist Nate Cook and guitarist/bassist Jesse Parmet, and now featuring drummer Adam Perry, the Yawpers (named after Walt Whitman’s promise to “sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world”) recall a grittier version of Wilco, with as much raw country sensibility as twisted indie imagination. Without seeing them live, the rollicking demo of “Heart On a String” is the only taste the Yawpers can give you at the moment, but shades of the Yawpers’ down-home rock were previously heard on Cook and Parmet's contributions to the now-defunct Boulder band Ego vs. Id’s 2010 LP Taste, such as “Hey Sarah” and “National Disaster.” Equally akin to Deer Tick, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and Elvis, the Yawpers’ fresh blend of alt-country and rock ’n’ roll is something you won't hear often in Boulder, but something you'll want to hear again.

It is with great pleasure that Ego vs Id announces the release of their much anticipated debut full length record TASTE.

The album will be available to the general public through the newly founded Abattoir Records on Tuesday November 16th being available digitally from iTunes and Amazon along with select independent record stores including Boulder’s Albums on the Hill and Denver’s Twist and Shout Records.

Ego vs Id does not want to be a victim of the great hyphen war. Blues. Rock. Country. If these descriptors were good enough for Robert Johnson, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash, they should be good enough for Ego vs Id.

Inasmuch, Ego vs Id is a rock band in the classic sense. They move their audience with extremely personal songs about love, pain, Lenny Bruce, and girls named Jenny without ever becoming exclusionary. Rock started out as the blues played faster and with more volume, and the best rock musicians have continually found ways to reinvent the blues. It’s about creating something new that feels old, and Ego Vs Id does this.

Their debut full length record, TASTE is an album that will make you want to fall in love again just so you can remember the bitter-sweet pain of heartbreak. There’s a lot of anger and passion in the music. It’s survivor anger.You can hear it in the vocals, in the slow-stabbing chords—Ego vs id wants to hurt you, not sadistically and not permanently, but hurt you all the same.

Windjammer. Best described as chill rock - a genre created from a blend of influences including Dispatch, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Pink Floyd, and Maroon 5. Windjammer is made up of Wally Wallace (vocals), Brian Cheyne (guitar), Sean Williams (piano/bass), and Steve Sherlock (drums).
Wally grew up on Loggins & Messina, and is largely influenced by Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dispatch. He loves music so much that one day he woke up and decided to hitchhike six hours to see one of Dispatch's members perform with his new band, State Radio.
Brian learned to play guitar by sitting down and learning every single song ever written by Incubus. Since then, he's been influenced by Sting and John Mayer.
Sean started playing bass because he felt like he needed a hobby, and his good friend at the time recommended bass. Over the years, Sean’s influences have grown to include Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Velvet Underground, and Bob Dylan.
Steve started doing music with the goal of being a session musician. Steve comes primarily from a jazz background and is also largely influenced by hip-hop artists such as The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, and Dr. Dre. He will be attending Berklee School of Music in January for drum performance.
Windjammer first got together in February 2004. After a variety of members came and went, in January 2006, Windjammer finally got a solid guitarist and drummer. With this new addition of Brian and Steve – friends since childhood - Windjammer was ready to roll.
The band worked on recording several songs for a demo, and in April 2006, began playing their first shows around Colorado Springs - where all four members went to high school together. During this time, the excitement of playing shows for people, the promise of a standing gig at a local club, and a company's offering to help license to film and television motivated Windjammer to really get serious as a band.
Today, Windjammer's members live across Colorado, playing shows throughout the state at venues such as Avogadro’s Number and Cervantes. Windjammer recently teamed up with recording engineer Bill Douglass (who has worked with artists such as Smashing Pumpkins and R-Kelly) along with around 15 other musicians and performers to create their debut album: "Sweet Relief.” The album has 17 tracks and is almost 80 minutes long – check it out!

 John B and fellow Flying Burrito Brothers band mate Larry Patton have been knocking country-rock fans in Norway & Denmark, playing a series of major festivals and clubs promoting their latest CD PATTON & BELAND "REACH FOR THE SKY".
For the festivals, the boys have been joined onstage by ace Norwegian drummer, Christian Seneger, knocking out two hours of solid rocking classic FBB songs as well as a long list of material ranging from Hank Williams, Dylan, Van Morrison, Chuck Berry, and more.
On the acoustic duo dates, John plays mandolin, Telecaster and dobro with Larry on acoustic guitar doing a wide selection of material ranging from their work with the FBB as well as original and classic country rock & blues tunes.
As always, the reaction in Norway has been terrific, due in part to the many times the guys have appeared here and their ever growing fan base.
The tour comes to an end in August. Plans are in the works for a winter return!
