Two proper techno tunes from Billie Jo, remixed by Sailor Juul and DJ Lily.

LILIES welcomes fellow Swedish artist Billie Jo onto its roster for the labels seventh release.

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Billie Jo is a DJ and producer with material on the likes of Spencer Parker's Work Them Records and Vincent Neumann's Unitas Multiplex. The past few years have seen Billie Jo steadily making her mark on the Stockholm underground scene and here we see the release of her third EP to date via DJ Lily and Sailor Juul's LILIES imprint.

"Dubbla Slag" leads with thunderous kicks, jolting percussive chimes and Jo's own hypnotic vocal chants ebbing and flowing amongst crunchy drums and a pulsating low- end drive "Du får mitt hjärta att slå dubbla slag" - You make my heart skip a beat. "Faller' follows next, embracing a similarly raw aesthetic courtesy of a gritty, dynamically evolving rhythm and intricately processed vocal murmurs, once again from Billie, uttering "Jag faller - så fånga mig" - "I'm falling - so catch me".

On the flip-side label bosses Sailor Juul and DJ Lily deliver their "Wellness Remix", embracing a more menacing feel with heavily distorted bass tones, driving drums and the original vocal line throughout. DJ Lily then goes solo for his take on 'Faller", again adding an even more vigorous feel to things via rave tinged drum breaks, distorted bass stabs and vacillating vocal tones. Dubbla Slag

Premiere: Billie Jo - Dubbla Slag [LILIES7]

Billie Jo is a DJ, producer and label owner from Stockholm who in the last years has become one of Sweden's techno phenomenas. Her DJ sets and productions are a manifestation of herself – energetic, playful and romantic, with an explosive-yet-delicate mix of driving bangers, bouncy grooves, hard techno, captivating vocals and trance elements.

Billie released her debut Ravenous EP on Work Them Records in 2019, closely followed by her Ne Plus Ultra EP on Unitas Multiplex. Next, Billie’s hard-hitting techno found its way home to Sweden with her third EP on Lilies. Since then, she has been part of compilations for R-Label, Rebekah’s End the Silence and Acts of Rebellion. Most recently she released the groovy vocal led banger Cor ad Cor on Lilies, together with Somewhen’s remix of her original track Faller(LILIES7). Billie is currently working on her next EP, scheduled for late 2024 on her label Shivers.

As a founding member of renown underground collective .WAV, Billie has her base within the Swedish scene. She has played for every known organizer and techno club nationally and has left hundreds of dance floors boiling – as well as gigs abroad at places such as RSO, Tresor and Hör. 

In 2023, Billie took one foot out of the DJ booth and studio to start her own record label - Shivers. The label represents Billie as a selector, with a mission to release techno and trance that entices the dance floor and makes you shiver.
