It is hard to not be sentimental or to romanticize or spiritualize such a devastating loss such as a death of a loved one,  It is also, for me, non-sensical to use beliefs and metaphors I wouldn't otherwise subscribe to bridge me through such an experience.  With the support of family and friends, here is an understanding I can embrace whole heartedly.

Christmas Eve

So there we were on Christmas Eve,

Lots of tunes about shepherds and sheep,
People travelin lots of miles just to go see him,
As if he had something to say,
But he was only a babe in a tiny little manager,

As if Mary and Joe were perfect out of town strangers,
But he didn't care cause he was just a kid,
But it makes me think about kids,
