Maher Daniel is a long-time favourite of ours, and someone we've wanted to host on our mix series for some time. A native of Canada, he's been living in Barcelona for close to a decade now, and his is very much a global life outlook that's indicative of his colourful, dexterous and unpredictable approach to DJing and production. The owner of The Other Side label, Daniel is a real DJ's DJ, and it's no surprise that he counts some of the scene's most-feted names as supporters. One such man is Ricardo Villalobos, who's invited Maher to support him on his landmark '20 Years at fabric' party in the new year. Sammy Dee needs very little introduction, his 20+ years involvement with Perlon and Get Perlonized events are evidence to his legacy who is an example as such that we have as role model. 

One thing I can talk about extensively however is him as a Dj. Sammy possesses an extremely wide taste in music and a record collection that follows that,  crossing over many genres of music. His ability to adapt to day or night sets, early or late slots and so on  is incredibly precise, as seen here at Sunwaves Festival last May. He was handing over to Dragos Ilici who crossed over to Binh. Please note that this set has intro / middle and ending, a feature that should be standard to us all but surprisingly it is not, hence my emphasis on it, it is a beautiful progression and killer structure. 

Sammy was one of my first bookings for the Toi.Toi.Parties and has been a close friend ever since.  I lost my shit during this set at Sunwaves with him and when finding out it was recorded I pestered him to allow me to release it as it has been on 'repeat' ever since. 

My due respect and thankfulness to this amazing soul and artist I truly admire.

Toi Toi Mix Series 19 - by Sammy Dee at Sunwaves Festival 23 - May 2018

The first show of 2013 was sent in just in the nick of time. Recorded live and direct from Sydney, Australia, I brave the spider infested streets, tree's, houses, bathrooms, and anything else that has a corner to bring you the best in Australian local talent. My guests are three very lovely ladies and extremely bad ass DJ's, Bella Sarris, Morgan, and Vlada. All were very timid and shy behind the mic, as to be expected when in the presence of such an accomplished, now international, radio host, so I let the music do the talking (wow, did I just say that? that was terrible). All recorded on the last day of my Australian tour, this show will remain one of my favorites due to all the love and support shown from so many people in this city. Thanks again, Australia. Within the world of electronic music everyone has a tale about our friend Bill Patrick.
