Listening to Oswald's piece, one sound that stood out to me was the sound of thunder, which made me think of the piece taking place in a big field whilst a storm is going on.  When making my piece, I wanted to try out some very abrasive sounds (at least abrasive compared to what I usually do), and was inspired by the sound of thunder to add in the filtered noisy sample I'd used in the piece to replace a section with guitars and a drum machine that wasn't working. I think this helped a lot, because this little bit created a bridge from the start into the guitar and drums bit.
