Welcome back to the world of Porphyra for another thrilling, historical journey through time and space, the future and our past.  If you’re an admirer of Greco-Roman civilization, Viking lore, Slavic and medieval tales of chivalry, intrigue and mysticism, then the story of Byzantium is for you.

In this chapter of our musical journey we encounter the Homeric hero, Odysseus, and his adventures in the land of the Cyclopes, in “I am Nobody,” and the witch Circe, in “Forever.” Out of “The Tale of Bygone Years” (The Russian Primary Chronicle) we witness first hand the world rocking wedding of Prince Vladimir the Great of the Kievan Rus to Princess Anna Porphyrogenita of Greece. “City of Gold” takes us on a captivating trip through the enchanting city of Constantinople, while two ballad/rock anthems from Anna and Vladimir, “Hook Through My Heart” and “Always on My Mind” remind us about the true meaning of love.

We offer a new twist on the old classic Rembetiko Greek song, “Misirlou,” from the beginning of the last century and the classic Greek New Year’s Carol “St. Basil’s Hymn.” With “The Starmaker’s Prophecy” we end with a futuristic cosmic battle to save the planet as that ancient spirit, the Harpy Queen, returns.
