Paul Bilsby

Whether it’s recording a studio session for Mark de Clive-Lowe, promoting a Madlib and Peanut Butter Wolf Tour or providing DJ support for the likes of Flying Lotus, Paul has always maintained a consistent involvement within the music-sphere he lives in.

His love of music began at the young age of 12, when he started collecting and Djing with cassettes. From here he went on to organise and DJ his annual high school dance event, compete in numerous DMC competitions and present an underground music program (Full Frequency) on community radio station RTR-FM in Perth. 

Inspired by soul, funk, hip-hop, disco and forward thinking electronic music, Paul’s DJ sets have been heard around the world, alongside artists like Flying Lotus, Benji B, Fat Freddy’s Drop, De La Soul, DJ Shadow, Lyrics Born, Madlib, and many others. Paul has an impressive club history filled with long standing residencies and has provided DJ support for numerous national touring festivals, including Harvest Festival in Melbourne.

After completing a degree in ‘Sound Production’ at the Western
Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Bilsby relocated to London in
2008 with a WA Arts Council grant to complete a studio mentorship with sound engineer Toni Economides and work as a freelance audio engineer for the Carsten Höller and Fondazione Prada inspired pop up venue ‘Double Club’. http://www.designboom.com/art/the-double-club-london-by-carsten-holler/
