This is the first time recording a full mix from my home setup. 
I wanted to be a big old genre bender for my first mix. You've got a bit of garage influence, tech house, bass heaven drops, bad bitch energy, campy pop remixes and some political trance. Oh, and some unreleased bangers from yours truly ;)

I plan on posting a 30 minute mix every week! So get ready bitches! This is my first one and there is definitely room for improvement but I wanted to keep it real and raw baby!!! ENJOY!

Next up in our special seven day BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover to celebrate Trans Awareness Week is Bimini from London, UK.

Bimini, born and raised in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, built a successful career as a DJ and club host in London before expanding to New York. In 2019, they were crowned Miss Sink The Pink and have since performed at major events like Mighty Hoopla and Brighton Pride.

Bimini rose to stardom in January 2021 on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, quickly becoming a fan favourite and gaining over 945,000 Instagram followers. This led to high-profile campaigns with Selfridges, Calvin Klein, and Maison Margiela, as well as features in British Vogue, Dazed, ES Magazine, W, and The Face. They also appeared in Ava Max’s “My Head & My Heart” video, Little Mix’s “Confetti,” and a collaboration with Oliver Sim from The XX.

In June 2021, Bimini released their debut single, God Save This Queen, with airplay on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, and BBC Radio 6 and over 463,000 views on YouTube. Their first book, A Drag Queen’s Guide to Life, debuted in October 2022 to critical acclaim, reaching the Sunday Times Top 10 bestsellers list.

In January 2022, Bimini returned to the studio, collaborating with Redshank, Benji Gibson, and Joy Anonymous, leading to a worldwide recording deal with Relentless, Sony Music.

@biminibabes was shaped in the queer club scene but after becoming a TV sensation in 2019 they were discouraged from pursuing their passion for dance music., Now, the East London drag icon and DJ is firmly back in that world.

"This mix is a riot in rhythm. It opens with Madonna’s voice—a reminder that freedom of expression isn’t up for debate—and spirals into something sexier: a nod to the queer underground and the artists that inspire me. Then it starts getting moodier before it turns. Darker. Sweatier. More defiant. I wanted to take listeners on a journey—from dreamy dissociation to full-bodied release. It’s chaotic in the best way: laced with political rage and drenched in dancefloor ecstasy, because music should make you feel every kind of emotion. It’s gritty. It’s euphoric. It’s queer liberation in sonic form.

There are tracks that feel like protest chants and moments of blissful release. I didn't want a mix that was tied to one genre, it's genre-bending. At its core, it’s about resistance, joy, and the urgent belief that there’s still something worth fighting for.

I’ve laced the set with my own music, too. It opens with a 2022 track that feels naive but hopeful, and closes with an unreleased piece that’s louder, prouder, more assured and confident.
