A rough track I made while trying to start writing again. Nothing great, but I like some of the elements. I had a really weird collection of gear for the last few songs I wrote at my old home studio. It was a creepy basement setup.

A song we co-wrote that we could perform with a drum machine. I was very much thinking Pink Floyd. We submitted this as a demo for an arts festival and were flatly rejected. I thought it was actually pretty fun.

Under A Mountain Of Worry (the Sky Is Not The Right Color)

This was an epic project and fairly personal, plus it is one of only two songs in existence that Mike recorded a violin part for. I originally had a whole concept album thought out about a group of people 500 years in the future playing an acoustic jam session in this abandoned field outside a large city. This is the only track I ever finished and it took over a year because of other things going in my life. It's personal, because when I hear it, I think of where my life was then, and the mood of the song conveys it pretty well. Not happy with the solo, but very happy with everything else.

I worked on this for quite a while as a live performance piece. I programmed the LFO changes into my Korg Electribe and was playing additional parts on a second synth. This is a live take. I recorded the spoken word sample, but the line is from a newscast in the move Signs.

Science

binary yellow started as a metaphysical experiment during a period of rapid inflation in the early universe. i.e. the experiment probes the question "can a binary color exist?". On September 22, 2004 at 10:05 pm Sean(guitar, vocals) joined the experiment mistakenly thinking it was a band. Mike(bass,violin) followed Sean in 2009 based on Sean's false interpretation of binary yellow. Eric(drums) mysteriously appeared in 2013, making binary yellow a band and validating all prior assumptions.
