For Matter, more than half a century of production credits adorn the jewel-encrusted crown that sits atop the Meanwhile and Meanwhile Horizons catalogues that he and fellow countryman, GMJ, preside over. Now returning to the label with a new twin-track offering, Matter delights once again with “Embrace / Elsewhere”.

From April 2020’s “Lost on Origin” and December 2023’s “Stellaris / Idtritah” with long-time friend and production partner, GMJ, to solo endeavours that include 2020’s musical triptych, “Amanita” and 2022’s “Banksia, Matter has continued to excel time and again in the progressive house realm. Always at the vanguard of an ever-evolving genre, the Australian star continues to find success in the studio in tandem with global DJ performances across Europe in Amsterdam, Glasgow, London as well as festival appearances in Australia and in clubs throughout his Melbourne hometown.

Now returning with a brand-new sonic diptych, “Embrace” is a chugging rhythmic gem that sparkles with hi-hat dynamism while a lilting percussive groove and cavernous kick keep a lock-tight beat. A beautifully syncopated synth-line, textured pads and floating vocal phrases create a relaxed atmosphere, as they evolve gently into full-formed phrases at the breakdown. Dropping back in the warm embrace of the earlier rhythmic phrasing, the vocal phrasing continues alongside the ethereal melodic elements and intermittent effects.

Opening with a bouncing grooved bassline and fizzing shaker pattern, a metronomic kick paves the way for a muted synth sequence to filter into the sonic foreground with ease. A sub-bassline deeper than the Mariana Trench adds to cascading sonic landscape as arpeggiated layers, thickly textured pads and white-noise fills join together. A heavily delayed and reverb-drenched vocal reveals itself at the breakdown alongside an array of melodic sequences, before the epic groove drops back in through the third movement with the extended vocal phrase and arpeggio combining to mesmerising effect.

Back to welcome the Meanwhile faithful with a 24-carat jewel, Matter’s hallmark of quality can be found running through “Embrace / Elsewhere”.

Juicebox Music's 80th release welcomes back ALURIA to the label with a special 2-track EP, featuring "Mangos and Avocados" & "Lunchbox", alongside DNYO & Greenage remixes. Juan Correa Lopez introduced his ALURIA alias in 2016 to create boundary-less electronic music, breaking the mould of tradition and striving for exploring the different. The Merlo (Buenos Aires, Argentina) born artist, and now currently based in Brooklyn (New York, USA), made appearances on many reputable imprints from the likes of Manual Music, Stripped Recordings & One of a Kind, to name a few. ALURIA made his debut on Juicebox Music in 2023 through the first edition of our Fables compilation with his single "Precession" and now he returns with two weapons: "Mangos and Avocados", a deep & dubby yet heavy & twisted concoction and "Lunchbox", a minimal & simple yet peak & wonky banger.

We're thrilled to welcome back the São Paulo (Brazil) maestro - DNYO to the label to give ALURIA's "Mangos and Avocados" a go. As one of our core artists, Danny Oliveira made his first appearance on our imprint in 2019 with "Flare / Children", following it up with "Radiate / Closer Distance" and "Halcyon / Sensoria / Space Monk" as well as contributing to our Tales of Time compilation with "Little Samurai", DNYO is no stranger to our camp with his incredibly unique & intelligent approach to sound that's nearly impossible to imitate. He tackles "Mangos and Avocados" under his 'Cyber Dub' style, traversing into a familiar futuristic world through unconventional practices. DNYO is not for the faint hearted.

To close off the release, we welcome back one of our favourites from Goa (India) - Greenage. With three appearances on the imprint - a remix for Monojoke's "Arterials" in 2017, "Undying Devotion of Life" on our Tales of Time compilation in 2019 and a remix for EANP's "Terra" in 2020, Greenage is a firm favourite at HQ. Having planted one foot into the Progressive House world while the other foot into the Deep & Organic House world, Greenage finds no trouble expressing his vision with such a range, scoring releases on 'Hope Recordings', 'Sudbeat','Tale & Tone' & 'Where The Shadow Ends' to name a few. This time, Greenage's return to Juicebox Music sees him remixing ALURIA's "Lunchbox" into a driving prog-monster.
