EKATA (@ekataa) brings a heavy mix for the 18th episode of Science Cult Radio!

London-based Jes Poole aka Ekata has built a reputation as a huge advocate for purist electro. With a style best being described as “warped electro & techno,” ominous grooves, slamming beats, and obvious sci-fi sonic fixations embody her carefully picked selections. 

Her monthly Electro shows on Ripe Radio Manchester & Guest mixes with Hilltown Disco and Ear to Ground Records to name a few, have turned the heads of some of the most respected and well established artists of the underground scene, including the likes of Anthony Rother who has expressed his love for her vision.

I often get asked what my favourite Electro tracks are, and I always struggle to answer. Like everyone else I guess, it depends on mood etc. In an interview last week, relating to an exciting  forthcoming project (watch out for  April's episode of Bass Agenda to find out more) I was asked for my top ten. I immediately said "that's impossible, but I will choose ten of my many favourites". And, here they are, glued together for fun....

Pretty Privilege is a DJ and organiser based in Montreal, Canada. She is the founder of 'microrave,' a mix & event series focused on highlighting the city's female/trans DJs. A staple of Montreal's queer rave scene, she fills dance floors with a special brew of ecstatic booty techno and pop-inspired tracks that keep bodies moving through the night.
