We love Posthuman here at Data Transmission. From their altruistic exploits on their Acid Relief and Music Sans Frontiers projects to their unique brand of “Slo-Mo Techno, Acid House, Electronica & Chicago Jack;” cousins Rich Bevan and Joshua Doherty have long been able to count us as fans.

Thus you can imagine our excitement when we heard that the duo would be dropping a new release on us for summer 2014 in the shape of the ‘Decompression’ EP on Bodywork complete remixes from sometime Houndstooth/Ninja Tune/Warp artists House of Black Lanterns!

Arriving this week as a 4 track 12” and 5 track digital EP the ‘Decompression’ EP caps a great few months for Posthuman with the duo having just held an amazing closing party to long running and immensely popular London night I Love Acid and undertaking a 30 years of Acid Mix for Solid Steel/Ninja Tune we thought it was about the time we nabbed their considerable talents for our very own mix of the day series.

Steve Rachmad’s techno project STERAC has for many years been a seminal force in his native Netherlands and beyond. Releasing over 100 releases across the much feted Delsin, Klockworks, Mote-Evolver, Tresor and others, he’s become something of a cult figure, and dubbed a father of Detroit in The Netherlands for added points. It’s hard to imagine a more venerated artist and there’s good reason why, Rachmad’s fearless approach to production puts him a cut above many of his peers, often taking pure feeling and a collection of well worn machines as a starting point and trusting his gut along the path to finished product. For Bassiani Podcast 190, the Dutch master of techno delivers a thorough lesson in expert mixing. From orchestral strings to utilitarian bleeps, Rachmad’s sound bridges a gap no one else can. An ode to the motor city with a healthy measure of string composition thrown in, recorded live at the club during the Token X Reclaim Your City night on November 3rd.

El artista británico Joshu Doherty mantiene viva en la actualidad la llama del proyecto Posthuman, creado en los años 90 junto a Richard Bevan, centrado en el sonido de las cajas de ritmo y en esencia en las cualidades lisérgicas del acid. Un inmejorable revival de sus legendarias noches de clubbing de principio de siglo llamadas “Seed”.

The British artist Joshu Doherty keeps alive today the flame of the Posthuman project, created in the 90s with Richard Bevan, focused on the sound of drum machines and essentially on the lysergic qualities of Acid. An unbeatable revival of his legendary clubbing nights of the beginning of the century called "Seed".
