Unusual whistles from adjoining woods about 3am in the morning.  Long version amplified and filtered for noise using auto spectral analysis

A loud exhaust from a vehicle sets off a loud noise surrounding what sounds like bipedal footsteps in an area with limited access, no publicly known trail (game trail to nowhere) and steep mtnside.  The actual footsteps are at 2:20 mins into the recording if you want to skip around.  Some of the associated sounds are as interesting as the footsteps.  Very deliberate steps that sound similar to my test steps in picking up the recorder (6-2ft. 200 lber) This is now the third step up, walkby or runby I have picked up in the area.  Wished I had game cam placement but really would rather not run off the target now.

A combination of wood knocks, whistles, speech-like sounds and a general riotous cacophony which is unexplained.  At about the 2 minute mark the wood knocks are so close to the mics that stereo separation occurs......  very odd for sure.

Recorded on a summer night in 2007 (May or June) of an unknown subject with an unknown language?  Within a month or so at a location about 90 ft. from this recording site I had a sighting of unknown bipedal beings with green eyeshine.  Original file, time/date has been saved but is disconnected from this snippet at the current time.

Older file, from summer 2007 post July 10 as the katydids are active.  This is in the period approaching dawn 4AM-6AM as I remember.  This is a segment of a larger several hour recording.  There were what appeared to be Eastern Screech owls out and about, but also there was a definite set of raps/taps and other rhythmic things going on around this location.  At first I assumed these were screen raps on a bedroom window.  Later I was not so clear how many of these percussive sounds were made outside the house.  The oddity of the matter is the coordination of the rapping with the owl calls that doesn't sit right with me.
