Drumz Clothing & crew have been a staple of the US drum & bass scene since their inception in 1996. I was one of their early DJ team members and the mutual love has remained strong. This mix celebrates a quarter-century ride through an ever-shifting genre with an endless sound palette. Hot on the heels of his highly anticipated return “Estranged” featuring LaMeduza, the West Country born/London-based Rockwell passes the mic to Lewisham-born and bred MC Novelist for his second single of the year, “Peak”. An atmospheric and ominous introduction, this club banger is defined by cheeky synth stabs and harmonic variations, increasing the intensity of the track as it progresses whilst providing the perfect sonic texture for Novelist to lay down his inimitable quick-fire bars - hitting at the government for the country's current state of affairs. A pertinent and “of the times” socio-political battle cry, Novelist raps “The price of everything is going up, I’ve had to add another zero to my fee I’ve had enough… the government don’t care about a thing, they don’t want to see or hear a brother win” whilst distant sample chimes in “The general public in this country know they are being mugged”.

“With a couple of my more recent productions, I’ve been trying to strip things back, taking a more considered approach to adding elements and ensuring that everything that makes the cut is integral to the track. I struggle to articulate how much of an honour for me it is to collaborate with Novelist on ‘Peak’, and from the recording session we did, the bars mirrored the instrumental and came together in an effortless fashion”.

Novelist is a Mercury Award nominated MC and producer hailing from Lewisham, South London. After developing his skills as a lyricist on pirate radio, Novelist went on to play a key role in the resurgence of Grime as a teenager. Nov has since evolved into a genre-bending artist who can no longer be defined by any individual scene. He was nominated for Best Grime Act at the MOBOs in 2014, and picked up a Mercury Prize nomination 4 years later. As well as continuing to release his own music under the Novelist moniker, he has produced for the likes of ASAP Rocky, Skepta, and Dean Blunt.

Established in 2012 and broadcasting out of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Bird Attack Punk Rock Radio was founded by Garrett Wadford based on an absolute unwavering love for punk rock - Fast, Loud, Shredding, Melodic, Skate punk to be exact. "I consider the genre I love to be more of an underground group of bands that deserve to get more exposure. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Pennywise, Lagwagon, Strung Out (and other similar bands) with a passion, but the new music that really gets me fired up as of late, has a hint of metal to it, which brings an extra level of AMP! to the table."

"I have always loved performing in some way shape or form, whether it has been on stage playing or behind the mic, focused on the voice only approach, so I decided to bring the music I was passionate about to the airwaves or internet-waves, as it has now morphed to a podcast." 

We are bringing new school punk mixed with the best older punk from as far back as 15 years, mixing it up with roughly 20 songs, throwing in a prank call, adding a dash of comedy and slamming the door shut with an insane interview from some of the best names in punk rock! These interviews range from different members of bands from across the spectrum; Pennywise to Lagwagon, Belvedere to Forus, Dutch Nuggets to Counterpunch. We are really turning up the quality this year.

Finally, the podcast is professionally produced, so whether you are playing it in your headphones or cranking it at your house or in your car, you are going to love the quality!
