About the track:
“I happened to hear Bobby Caldwell's 'What You Won't Do For Love' for the first time on my way home after a summer night spent with friends. I was immediately hooked by it, I started to listening to the song every single day. After finishing "Dieresi", I decided to pay homage to one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard.

On March 14th, 2023 while working on this track, Bobby Caldwell passed away at the age of 71, thus changing my approach and feeling for the piece I was making. It was no longer just a tribute to the song, it is now a tribute to a great artist. After all, you always live in the memories."

The new Birdcage Podcast episode is here, featuring Jen Lark, a DJ whose love for music began in the 90s, growing up with MTV and Viva always playing in the background.

She started DJing during Covid, inspired by the visibility of female DJs and shaped by Berlin’s techno scene. Moving from slower house into faster, groove-driven techno, her sound is rhythmic, emotional, and guided by feeling rather than expectation.

For Jen, DJing is deeply personal. Overcoming self-doubt and stepping out of her comfort zone became her biggest achievement, allowing her to fully enjoy sharing her favorite music. Now exploring vinyl and keeping DJing as a passion, she continues to play what feels right in the moment.

Describing musical journeys in the image of a 70s sports car following the blotched centre strip snail of rainy highways towards a metropolitan fever dream of Vaporwave urbanity might be slightly overused. But let’s imagine a certain type of repetitive movement passing behind tinted windows when listening to the cool, sleek opening beats of “Fluid Pupils”. A four bar loop tingly melody lifts our mood and we allow ourselves to be content and relaxed

The artist himself found inspiration in the depths of dilated pupils of his friends on one of these long trippy evenings stuck at home. We can see this visual represented in the EP’s artwork: An energy of happy curiosity - always bordering on the edge of experiencing something more intense.
