[everybody needs a little help sometimes]

I’ve been deejaying since junior high, and up until last year, my passion for it never wavered.

Last October, I played a set at an annual boat party I always attend. Honestly, I sucked. A few of my mates really crushed their sets. Actually everyone really played great, that night made me realize something. I had lost the passion I once had for playing music. 

There was also a set by my friend Paul Leath that I missed, and I truly regret it. Paul passed away recently, and I wish I’d taken the opportuniy to see him do what he loved. He had such a deep love for music and it showed every time he played. His smile and his deejay dance. Makes me smile and at the same time brings tears to my eyes thinking about him. 

I came home from the boat party feeling deflated. It really bothered me that the fire I once had was gone. 

It took some time to reset and find my footing again. I’m not completely back yet, but I played a two-hour set recently, and for the first time in a while, it felt good. That feeling, the connection to my music, the joy, it’s been missing but this set felt good.

I have a large crew of friends that are bad ass deejays. Thank you for always inspiring me and you know who you are.
