Serial Killaz link up legendary microphone champion MC Spyda for a touch of chilled out vibes in the form of ‘Meditation’. For those thinking we mean a few slices of cucumber and incense sticks you’re wrong as if the world was normal right now we would be swapping the fruit for some Jager and the incense for, well... you get the drift. 

The title track is full of Spyda’s golden laced lyrics and it's proof that everytime he touches mic, good things happen. In this instance, you get a bloody good tune full of Serial Killaz vibes which is driven by a big LFO wobble bass straight out of 2010. Proper! 

‘Mind Games’ on the virtual flip takes on a similar kind of vibe, just in time for better weather and bigger vibes. It’s rumoured to already be in every single DJs Rekordbox ready for Sun and Bass 2020 as well as the potential for a timely commercial crossover. Some great vocals and sneaky FX on this one alongside floaty pads and tip top breakbeats.

After selling out Belgium’s most impressive arena several times over, yearly gathering 15,000 bassheads from around the world, and launching a series of successful compilation albums, the biggest drum&bass and dubstep party in the world is now launching its own imprint, Rampage Recordings. A&R’ed by head honcho Murdock, Rampage Recordings will be showcasing different styles and vibes, covering both drum&bass and dubstep. Focussing on the acts that will play the event in 2018 for now, the label will be dropping a series of samplers, leading up to this year’s compilation album, with contributions confirmed by the likes of Turno, Barely Alive, Voltage, Virtual Riot, Upgrade, Current Value, Franky Nuts, Maduk, Lifecycle and more. Later into next year, expect full single and EP releases from some of the most exciting acts in the drum&bass and dubstep world, as well as remixes of big tunes of a-list artists.



We kick things off with the Sampler 01, which boasts this year’s Rampage anthem by Murdock & Doctrine, a hard rockin stomper that is confirmed as next week’s "René’s Rinse Out” on René LaVice’s new BBC Radio1 show, and will up on UKF a few days later. Next up is Billain with one of his trademark takes on future sonics, preparing us for his Hyperbinary show at Rampage, and we close things off with a classic bassline banger from the studio of Serum & Bladerunner, two of the Kings of The Rollers.

Liondub releases the first Street Series EP of 2018 featuring rising star Bou, the Manchester producer with a natural talent to create stand-out D&B that has garnered him support across the board. Bou's funk laden, jump-up influenced, classic drum & bass sound is spreading like wildfire and can be likened to the sounds of Serum, Voltage, T>I and Benny L who currently lead the pack of modern producers in the Jungle arena. This EP perfectly showcases Bou's soulful taste, excellent production skills, and wide ranging scope, plus it includes two tracks co-produced by Euphonique and Dispoze. Hailing from Newcastle and sticking directly to the Serial Killaz deep roots, Nectax delivers a fine slice of everything you would expect from this legendary label. ‘Paradox EP’ is a fine mashup of both classic and upfront styles with a firm nod to Nectax’s many influences. Heads from all all eras and all walks of life will appreciate the style and selection.

From the silky jungle flavours of ‘Paradox’ to the experimental building blocks of ‘Greedo’, Nectax delivers a audio journey of stretched and rolled breakbeats, proper sublow basslines and punchy vocal stabs and melodies. Memories of Jungle Splash may well come flooding back here, maybe even that moody basement party circa ‘95 with 500 sweaty ravers!

‘Hologram’ really is a true representation of lazers licking off shots through a haze driven dancefloor. Forgot Co2 cannons if you’re dropping this one as it’s all about the attitude - stick your head down and shuffle. A dynamic switch in the form of ‘Dice’ which is no doubt a true building shaker! Rumbling jungle basslines accompany skippy breakbeats and crashing drum loops which drive the vibes hard. ‘One More Sunset’ brings proceedings to a close with its flexed out rolling stance and melodic vibes. A fine end to a superb collection of tunes.

Jungle music has always been about vibes and feelings, both of which Nectax captures effortlessly here. Watch the ride!
