The duet 'Lately" was written and performed by Randy Scott Carroll and Birdie Busch. It was produced by Todd Erk (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah) and features steel guitar by Nashville’s Joe Overton (Nora Jane Struthers) and multi-instrumentalist and composer Jake Bloomfield-Misrach on the electric guitar.

For the new single "Dreamers" Birdie Busch worked with fellow musicians in Philadelphia to create the contemplative soundscape vision. Recorded with Todd Erk (Clap Your Hand Say Yeah), Jaron Olevsky (Amos Lee), Charlie Brooks (The Louds) and Nick Krill (Spinto Band, Teen Men). Nick Krill of Paper Lab Recording (The War on Drugs, Spinto Band) mixed the song and Alex Deturk (Kamasi Washington, D'Angelo, Blonde Redhead) mastered it.

DREAMERS

Philly based Birdie Busch is bringing to the world a new full length album entitled Night Blooming on the first day of Spring (March 20th) in collaboration with boutique vinyl focused PIAPTK, joining the roster with other luminaries like M. Ward, Michael Nau, Flaming Lips, Dr. Dog, and many more. 

Recorded with Craig Hendrix (Japanese Breakfast), Todd Erk (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah), and Jaron Olevsky (Amos Lee), along with other longtime core band and players in the Philly community like Ross Bellenoit and Carl Cheeseman. They also teamed up for swirling harmonies by up and coming Americana artist Brittany Ann Tranbaugh and the new addition of horns and woodwinds played by ambient and improvisational players Koof Ibi and Kevin Russell, creating a new direction and vibe for the always evolving music.

Critics from American Songwriter to Paste Magazine have found her of kindred spirit from everyone from Syd Barrett to Eudora Welty, referring to what she does as her own thing and appreciating that strange place where it resides. 

This record is about big societal changes just as much as immediate community needs. Perseverance by hook or crook. Breaks and reconnection. Paying attention. Growing internal and external land/sound/lifescapes and the relationships between them. It’s about not always knowing but knowing that even that is transmuted via the process. If we are wading in a metaphorical and physical swamp Birdie Busch’s songs are an attempt at what should be left when the mesh gets pulled up from the murk. This record is full of golden nuggets and mystical gems from that sifting.
