Based out of New York City, she has spent the last several years quietly expanding upon her production, composition, and engineering knowledge. The producer’s patience has paid off with a musical bounty worth it's weight in sub bass. Drawing from the font of psybient influence, each of the four tracks is a boisterous dance of pulsating frequencies. Glitchy harmonies and high-processed synthesis turn each moment into a downtempo tango between the visceral and the effervescent. With an obvious inclination towards arrangement and general musicality, the EP is a testament to an intrepid work ethic. On our way to the Ozorian Dome, we talked with Danish producer-musician Rumpistol, also of the award-winning Kalaha jazz fusion band, about some things before and “After the Flood”, followed by his special selection for radiOzora listeners.

The works of Jens B. Christiansen are driven by his quest for beauty and curiously creating new sounds.
Since his eponymous debut album from 2003 Rumpistol has released five albums and eight EP’s and
played live shows throughout most of the world. He has collaborated with Bill Laswell, Ane Trolle and MØ,
and he also composes music for film, video games, and theatre and dance performances.
In 2004 BBC radio legend John Peel played Rumpistol’s music on his show for the first time, and in 2016
Rumpistol’s music was used during the enormous opening ceremony for the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Rumpistol has played live at the Roskilde Festival and at Mutek in Canada, and during recent years he has
toured the US extensively.
Jens B. Christiansen, along with his band Kalaha, won a Danish Jazz Music Award award in 2017 and the
Carl Prize in 2019. Jens B. Chistiansen has run the label Rump Recordings since 2003. The label mainly
releases electronic music by Danish artists and has more than 40 releases under its belt.

RUMPISTOL | On The Way To Ozora 2020 | 04/04/2020

I was honored to be part of Anthropos Festival’s live stream in June 2020. This selection of brain-tickling bass tracks explores the intersection between numerous musical styles emanating from the 70/140 realm of the electronic underground. A moody mix that was intended to entertain listeners on both sides of the Atlantic with psychedelic texture, churning rhythms, and heavy bass, “Hybrid States” is a rollercoaster of light and darkness that I hope will entertain lovers of all intelligent bass styles.

Birds of Paradise is California-born producers Torin Goodnight (Bird of Prey) and Tyler Gibson (Gibson).  Since their debut in 2011, they have traveled the world, playing main stage at many of the biggest and best electronic music festivals.  Having a similar aesthetic but still maintaining an individual approach, they combine forces in a symbiotic project to work towards a common vision and master the art of collaboration.  The duo plays to its strengths- patience, beauty, and depth to offer a truly original sound of rolling percussive breakbeats, progressive melodies, incredible sound design and twisted psychedelic layers.  Their fusion of elements, both natural and synthetic, create an engaging bio-digital landscape that leaves little to the imagination.
